Hi everybody!

Well, as it seems, i can get a cheap electric locker from a HZJ78, that is a high pinion 8in 4.3/1 locker. Any idea if it would fit the 9.5 inch housing and still be centered? Is the spline count the same? I've just missed a HDJ 80 rear axle with locker for 350 euros!

Best regards.

Max.

The front spline count is the same, and with some minor mods, it can fit into a Hilux front axle housing. If you really want to use this differential in your 60, you can get a custom width Hilux housing made at FROR Fab and it can work in your 60.

Another hurdle is the 4.3 ratio. No R&P sets available for the standard cruiser rear diff, so these will have to be swapped to 4.1 or 4.56. 100 series R&P would be tricky to fit into the older style diff.

curious why you say this, i have both sitting here and i compared the housing size of the 2000 HZJ79 and the 95 PZJ75 and they are the same...
one is 4.56 and the other is 4.30...
maybe you know something i don't...care to share?

Dave, cheers mate , were the other two posted by you? :whoops: Was wondering where they came from. Earlier I was thinking of swaping motors to a 1HZ so started saving info, seems it is a lot easier to change trucks not much to save by swaping motors. You guys know the story on that from 1HZ + turbo post +bearings. Hey blokes, lets have a few more PICTURES.

No worries, Gazza  Once I post a picture on the internet, it is public property :) I have to give credit to Dave who took the third picture.
