Hmmm....just my opinion of course Toyota synthetic 0W20 is one of the best oil in the market, I will choose Toyota synthetic over anything else in the market except may be ENEOS Sustina.....

Well Yea but if I wanted a different weight oil I wonder what's comparable since the toyota oil is only available in 0w20. One thing of note is I think both at Toyota and Lexus dealers I don't think we typically use Toyota 0w20. We just use bulk oil out of the reels that take it from the storage tank which is filled by a local company. I'm pretty sure it's just bulk valvoline or something.

If you want different weight oil weight, try ENEOS Sustina or ENEOS synthetic oil, bet you will love it. That being said, any major oil producer synthetic oil will serve you fine if you change your oil within the service interval. I spent a lot of time doing research on oil and try different oil, but based on previous experience Toyota synthetic, ENEOS, Mobil 1, Amzoil, Valvoline full synthetic, Shell Rotella Sythentic and Penzoil Ultra synthetic all performs well in my experience. None of the vehicles I use those oil on has engine problem which includes the following vehicles:
86 Honda Accord ( M1 all the way to 270k miles and still driving fine before I sell it )
92 Honda Accord
93 Honda Accord
94 Honda Accord
97 Toyota Camry
08 IS250
08 RX350
95 FZJ80
94 FZJ80
96 FZJ80
97 FZJ80
14 Sienna van
11 URJ201

So now I do not sweat on oil anymore, I try to stick with Toyota or ENEOS, if those not available Mobil 1 or Valvoline as they are readily available anywhere and price reasonable with great quality.

Use M1 or ANY reputable brand and change it regularly. Done.

Unless you live in extreme cold like Alaska. The oil demo video somewhere in this thread was interesting in that regard. Some ran...while other were almost like tar...barely able to pour even squeezing the bottle.

Yes, how about that "Royal Purple High Performance." We'll be in the 10s here tomorrow and 20s next few days.

Given the fact that the VOA shows a completely different additive pack for the Toyota OE Mobil than the regular Mobil synthetic, and the Mobil performed the best in that cold flow test, and is priced fairly, I see no reason not to use it. And that goes for the differentials and transfer case as well.

LMAO another thing of "note" they use old reconditioned fram oil filters and Ford shocks as Toyota replacements. Just a wild guess on my part but your not in a position of authority if you work at a dealership. ;)

Dude I have no idea what u just said. Who uses Fram or ford shocks? As far as position of authority, what are you talking about?

Just saying dealers cover their "ass" they would never risk the franchise to save a buck on oil or parts. That's why I was "LMAO" because if you worked in management at a dealership you would never state they used off brand inferior "not manufacturer recommended oil" or they would fire your butt. That's how I knew you were making a joke!!

I'm not a manager. I'm not trying to say the oil used is not adequate. I am saying the oil used is not the Toyota oil in the bottle. It's bulk oil from a nearby company usually. If u want the Toyota oil, it comes from a bottle, not bulk oil. As a new lexus vehicle owner the first oil change for a new Lexus at 10k miles Lexus pays for and is free. And for that oil change the toyota oil in the bottles are used. After that, all customer pay oil changes typically come from bulk. That's just my observation.

I can verify this. My FIL (also a 200 owner) is an oil distributor, and provides bulk oil to a number of Toyota dealers.

Next time you talk to your buddy, ask him if he is one of the GTMO bulk oil distributors mentioned in the Toyota publication I posted? ;) you know the ones that distribute bulk oil to Lexus/Toyota dealers so they can put that 0w20 Toyota formulated synthetic oil in our 200 series.

They are not. They carry most brands, but Valvoline is their main supplier. Pretty sure they service the dealerships in your area too.
