Help with leak near rear diff (1 Viewer)

Any thoughts on this one? I searched and found one, which was a really weird seal that apparently can only get damaged if you swamp it?

Leaking pinion seal. Nothing weird or unusual going on here.

It's easy to change.
 
Yiou can also use the existing nut. Remember to "unstake" it first to minimize thread damage.
Replace the seal.
Then reinstall the nut to the assembly and take the nut about half the keyway width past the original location when you reinstall to "make adjustments" for the crush sleeve bearing adjustment, then restake the nut to the pinion. If you use a new nut, you have no reference point.

I used my DeWalt 1/2" impact wrench with 300 LB-FT of torque on a fresh battery and it took about six ugga-duggas to get it to the right place.
One of the very few times I did not use a torque wrench to cure my OCd.
