I installed 4 inch downey springs and it seemed to moved the front axle about three inches rearward so now the shocks are twisted and the bumpstops dont line up. they on backwards?

The long side of the spring faces the shackles. If they were on backwards, you would have the opposite problem.

x2 Sounds like you got the wrong springs. Did they come with bushings? 1" od? I can't see how any Toyota springs would cause that problem unless they were really long fj60 rears. Those would have big bushings; 1-3/8" od.

Your shackles are in the front, as original, right?

Did the po reverse the springs you took out?

The long side of the spring, goes to the front of the frame on the front axel, in a stock setup.

Do you have photos of your shocks and bump stops?

Have they been moved from the stock location?

We gotta see a picture of this one.
What's your front drive shaft think about this?
