treeroot and i are putting the v8 in the piggie today...
sbc350 with cruiser 4spd and, for now, stock armstrong steering, with advance adapters front mounts.

does anyone have this setup that can help us on positioning. the mounts look like they need to be above the frame, and we'd have to be tight to the firewall to get them behind the steering box/mount. is this correct?

well, we winged it and it's in...just tacked for now. got to set axles and tack and pull it all out and weld everything in solid...started the morning stripping everything off and grinding the old motor mounts down...ended the day checking it all on a level.

would've gotten much more done if mike hadn't been sleeping, screwing off, doing his nails :D

dakota approves of the piggie

I think it took us longer to bolt the transmission together than it tok to weld the motor in. and....I needed my beauty rest :flipoff2: This OT is killing me.

the only way to get the level above all the crap where we could set it level on the engine was "risers" :D we enjoyed a few of these yesterday :grinpimp:

Ige,

Very cool. I'm glad the piggie is finnaly going to have a heart beat. I like how the engine matches the pig.

Oh and Mike, you look fablous. I can understand that you want to look your absolute best for the Cruiser Rally. I mean if a girl doesnt have her looks what does she have? :flipoff2:

It is looking good. I am also near putting in a 350, but with the SM465/205. The SBC looks small sitting inside the Pig. To me, I thought it was going to be much tighter. Can you get a top view (arial view) of the engine in the bay for me please?

Here is mine so far...

I have to part the Chevy out to afford all the little extras like drivelines...

Anyway, I would really be greatfull if you could get a pic for me. Then, when the Pig is running, maybe I can actually make it to an event instead of just sitting in the driveway and pretending.

i'm actually surprised, but it appears that i may be able to use the stock rear shaft, only the front shaft needs work, but i'm soa, so the lift may affect everything.

here's a few pics. you can see in one pic where i will clearance the firewall and relocate the e brake cable. other than that, there's really a lot of room

i'm manual steering for a while. these pics show just how close i am to the steering box to get it away from the firewall

motor/tranny are mounted nice and high though...nice change from my 40 where we put them low to keep cog down, which turned out to be a wheeling mistake, but great on road.
