Quick question, does it matter which hose hooks up to the heater core?

I'm not getting any heatside and I'm assuming I have the hoses wrong.

Thanks

are you asking if the heater hoses need to be connected in a certain way to the heater core?
no, it does not matter which way the coolant flows thru the heater core.
are the hoses hot to the touch?

Yes, that was my question.

When I had the heater out, I went was able to pass water through it easily.

Hot in the engine compartment, but not through the fire wall.

is there a valve not open? if the engine is hot and the hoses to the heater core are cold, there is no circulation. either a blockage or a valve is turned off.
older rigs had manual valves in the engine compartment, newer ones used a pull cable to open and close the valve.
also not sure what a PO might have done in the engine bay

I'll take a look in the morning. I know I have what looks like a shut off valve towards the back of the block on the driver's side. I'll post up some pictures when it's light out again.

that would be it,
