Would you be interested in running a 7 inch round headlamp in your cruiser?

love the look--I was actually just thinking about this last week. Don't see why all the hurt feelings in here :meh: I saw a grand cherokee with round eyes a few months back and thought it looked really mean

Angle of beam is important. Law enforcement will fine drivers for angle of beam. It's a motor vehicle infraction and will also cost the driver points. If the driver maintains a CDL it can cost them their license. The driver will be summoned. Eventually your name as the developer/manufacturer will come out in court which may not bother you as you don't intend to manufacture or sell. If you do manufacture and sell then you may be held accountable under a number of federal codes - including the UCC.

The design looks great. Correct to ensure compliance with motor vehicle laws and you could be onto something.

Installation complete.
Out on a test run.

I don't have high beams yet. I need a relay to control the switch.
Turn signals took a minute to figure out, but they work now. The halo doubles as turn signal.

I plan on turning the factory turn lamps into fog lights, and I'll put a round, Jeep style, marker lamp where the factory marker lamp was.

Been wanting to do this with the Rigid Round head lights..and the Jeep Wrangler aftermarket ones. Cant wait to see the final enclosures.

nifty

I have referral who can cut your complete pattern an another shop who can bend it up off jig. The expensive part is the mold an plastic around light to fill space. Unless you did a solid. Don't do that do a illumination housing. I would Make sure everything is adjustable to fit each other needs. I'm busy but watching. Let me know in in Phoenix I'm throw you there numbers. I sport your lamps boss man if there clean I Digg wat I see.

@jay would you mind clarifying some of your ideas? Specifically what a solid housing vs. illumination housing, and everything adjustable, means? Thanks for supporting the project it will make it easier for everyone to contribute if we can clearly understand everyone's ideas..really interested to see what you have to say you obviously have some expertise

Thanks for the input.
I'm actually in the process of building an entire grill / headlamp combo.
I have the headlamp buckets adjustable. Then the headlamp brackets are adjustable as well.
I designed it this way so that, the headlights can be adjusted with the actual buckets, then fine tuned with the brackets. This will address any issues with bent core supports, or different grills.
I've been fabricating with steel, but about to do the final build in aluminum ( I hope it holds up).

I was originally going to use the factory grill and build around it, then I tinkered with the thought of using an FJ Cruiser grill, now i've decided to build something original.

I'm also in the process of wiring an auxiliary fusebox. My GF bought me a backup camera w/ mirror ( I had to 3d print a mount for it), and I'm installing a Raspberry Pi 3 (to control all my auxiliary lighting, radio, nav, and anything else i can program for it to do.)

I do have some rock lights sitting on the shelf, and I cant think of a good place to mount them.
If anyone has any recommendations, I'd appreciate it.

HIR bulbs are such a night and difference compared to stock bulbs. I went from hating my headlights to loving them. I see no point in changing something that already works great.

The only thing great about Toyota's, and I've owned several, are the drivetrain.

i want to see daylight pics, they look sweet so far

Do you have any more details on your Raspberry Pi setup? I have been thinking about how to integrate one to cover relays and other items, but haven't done anything yet. Would love to see what you came up with.
