you have to take out the cams. they must have reinstalled the cams after the head was out either to do a valve adjustment or just to keep the smim buckets in.

I plan on having the Head milled .001 and a complete valve job.

Probably a quick typo, but I think you meant 0.010".

Also, if you order the HG kit from CDan, you will get some valve stem seals; pass those along to the machinist when you bring the head in.

I'm in the middle of doing my HG at the moment and the only tool I didn't read much about in the many HG threads I pored over was this Torque Angle Meter. Upon head installation, it makes the 90 degree turns of the head bolts really easy.

One last thing, make enough space to layout your parts in the order that you remove them (just like Doug says in the video). Mine parts got jumbled and I wish they were in order.
