I got off with mild whiplash, my wife has 2 cracked ribs and 3 bruised ribs, the little pomeranian dog was completely unharmed. It happened last Wednesday on my wife and my 13th wedding anniversary. We decided to go for a drive on Mt Taylor and had a pleasant day. It was that really windy day last week, 35 mph winds with 50 mph gusts. On the way back on I-40 eastbound on Laguna Pueblo something happened, I’m not sure what, gust of wind, inattentive or something and I found myself going off the road into the median and made the unforgivable mistake of over correcting to try to stay on the highway instead of riding it down the median until I could slow down. We rolled the van 360° and landed wheels down on the side of the road.OH NO!!!!! First, are you OK? Second, what the hell happened?
Holy &$@! I don’t know what it is with that stretch of I-40 as I drive through that section a lot since we have a cabin down near El Morro National Monument, but it seems like there is always something happening there. Sorry for the injuries but glad you are both alive (and the dog) as that looked like it could have been much worse.I got off with mild whiplash, my wife has 2 cracked ribs and 3 bruised ribs, the little pomeranian dog was completely unharmed. I agree. It could of been much much worse. The build in the back held the van together and kept the roof from totally collapsing, none of the glass in the back was broken for the same reason. We’re alive and relatively unharmed, although my wife is in a lot pain.Holy &$@! There was a tornado that touched down east of me, and blew down 12 power polesNO!!!!!!
I am so glad you both made it with your lives and little dog too!
May your wife heal with strength and may her pain subside quickly.
Ugh!! May you quickly heal!
Last Wednesday was that CRAZY Haboob that hit NM! We were pelted with hail bigger than a quarter and dimpled my 4runner hood… other newer vehicles look horrible! I just saw some Doppler pictures and photos from an airplane of what hit us.
That was also the 23 car pile up on I-25! What a bummer to hear you got caught in that crazy wind!
Prayers, healing vibes and positive thoughts heading your way!
