Am I missing any of the obvious, habitual offenders?
I have to say, I am so jealous of all you peeps that can actually get your crank bolts off.
Err. yeah, tighten the thingy on top of the engine where you add the new oil, usually to replace what has recently leaked out from the bottom of the engine. It's not complicated, I think it's only a 1/4 turn and you don't even need a SST, just your hand...Needless to say, I'm still cleaning up that mess 4 months later after inadvertently deleting that thingy for about 25 miles (YMMV.)
Literally, everyone that has ever owned a 1FZ-FE.
Known oil leak areas that you should plan on replacing the seals:
Oil Pump Cover Seal
Crankshaft Seal
Distributor O Ring
Valve Cover Gasket (do plug seals and PCV while you have the valve cover off)

Thank you for this sage-like advice. Off to find part numbers, I pick up my 80 this weekend!
I don't think I was being an a$$. You asked a question, I gave you a factual answer then provided you with the known oil leak areas on the 1FZ-FE. This saving you the time of using the search function.
Everyone that has owned a 1FZ-FE has had these areas leak. Not most people, not some people, everyone. Seals wear out and need replacing.
Congrats on the new 80.
My crank bolt laughed at my attempted bumping the starter method. 3' breaker bar with 2' of pipe slid over the end did the trick in about 5 seconds.
Did you not notice how sh!tting it was running?
Wow, Calm down dude. I didnt ask a question, i just clicked on the thread and saw valuable information. I legitimately was thanking you.![]()
Pro tip: Don't go over to Pirate. If you thought I was being a d!ck you have NO IDEA!![]()
