Has anyone had a oil leak comimg from this area? And if so how did you get it fixed?

It's hard to explain. Basically, the most curmudgeonly people you'll ever meet.

And it is filled with self-appointed experts that are always ready to tell you how wrong you are!
So basically just like Mud?? Kidding!! I like it a lot here, people are nice and always willing to help.....unless you post beach and/or beach attire pics, then it just gets weird and ultra conservative.

Sorry OP for the slight detour off topic, but I have nothing tech related to add (no surprise). I like my slight oil leak on my 80, keeps everything glistening underneath.

If you are saying you are looking for an outlet to post less conservative beach attire pics - then you have my permission to PM me! :)
Sorry - did that just get weird...? ;)

I'm just joking - I think we all appreciate the fact that you happen to be an attractive female who is in to Land Cruisers! And who doesn't love a good, well composed photograph of a beautiful woman on a cool rig taken in a beautiful location??

Looks like the PO likes to do bodgie work, hopefully not a glimpse of future engineering marvels to discover...

Speaking of bodgie work, @Ryan v replace yer belts too. Stating the obvi, but you've got miss-match belts too...one old, one newish, and that ain't right, does your rig squeal? Also, those ain't OEM belts either, find a set of those. (OEM belts don't have the notches) You'll have them off to do this job anyway.

PRO-TIP #3
RE-texaz know how video.
Having gone through the fun I had with my crank bolt, and having to pull out the radiator out late in the game...Honestly, were I to do it again, I'd start by pulling the rad right from the start. it's 30 mins extra to pull it out and about 15% more messy, and a 1:banana: job.

It is the one part of that video that makes me cringe, and face palm, I don't know why he didn't pull the rad when he broke the tip off in the cover screw....

Side benefits of doing it: an extra six inches of work space which is HUGE and allows you better access to the pump cover screws and a lower chance of stripping them, zero chance of shearing that little nipple on the top of the radiator with a breaker bar or contorting yourself in there to get to the other bits, and zero chance of damaging the fins and ruining your rad.

other pro tip: don't use a standard #3 phillips bit on the pump cover screws...Either find a JIS #3 driver or I've found the Makita Impact Gold #3 bits are a really good approximation of the JIS bits (they might even be JIS). Standard US #3 phillips bits will strip those pump cover screws faster than you can imagine. Then replace OEMs screw with Hex head screws...avail around here somewhere.

And ... ha...i'm not a pro, so shouldn't be implying those are pro-tips...I'm def learning the rig though.

Not everyone here is an ultra conservative! They just delete my nonconservative posts...

Yes. You took it too far.

And unfortunately there were a couple of DBs that don't like attractive females posting pics with their 80 Series that ruined it for the rest of us.

I second that. Keep em coming Jen.

Yes. Pull the radiator. Flush the coolant system while you are at it. It needs it.

@Hornd aka Dustin sells the Torx head screws. PM him and send him the $4 or whatever they are. It is worth it if you have to do it again in 15-20 years.

I was half joking about the mods, they seem to let me post any beach pics if I post them in my build threads...which are only kinda build threads and are really my personal "what did I do with my 60 and 80 this weekend" threads. Its all good, I don't mind (that much) being censored if it allows me to stay in this awesome community! Or sometimes I will self censor pics just to keep the mods happy:

I apologize if anyone thought I took my joke too far - typed messages can't convey the spirit in which they were intended (which was entirely in jest)
@Aloha Jen , keep participating in the forum - diversity in sex, age, race, location, etc.... can only bring more interesting and useful content to this site.

This week in UNNECESSARY CENSORSHIP........

S, keeps everything glistening underneath.

You KNOW there are SOOOO many bad jokes that can get started with you posting this....right?

I don't think I was being an a$$. You asked a question, I gave you a factual answer then provided you with the known oil leak areas on the 1FZ-FE. This saving you the time of using the search function.

Everyone that has owned a 1FZ-FE has had these areas leak. Not most people, not some people, everyone. Seals wear out and need replacing.

Congrats on the new 80.

MAN!!!! I was gonna come on here and call you a D**K for THAT one! But, I see you apologized, so it's all good!

Thought maybe you were being a bit over-sensitive there.....
