Took a quick trip yesterday. Kids had a great time looking for raspberries. A few other things are ready too

Chokecherries make great wine.

Wild hops. If any beer brewers want to try them they are ready now.

I approve this message. Wild raspberries rock.

They are awesome. Takes a while to get a handful, but they taste better than domesticated ones.

I was excited to find the hops. I have heard of them, but have never found any.

I had no idea that Hops were growing in the Jemez. I will be watching for them now.

I have heard of them in the Jemez and up by the Terrero Campground, but never seen them. I know a guy that uses them for beer, but he keeps their location secret.

You're more of a distiller than a brewer, right? Neat to see hops growing wild in NM. Had no idea that was even a thing.

I have heard of them in the Jemez ...

I've also seen them in the Magdalena Mountains. It has a widespread distribution in New Mexico, but I would not say it's common.

I will be foraging at my earliest convenience..... Thanks for this message! I have been searching forever for Chokecherries and Currants.

Hmmmm.... Perhaps tomorrow.....

Also, the bolete mushrooms should be starting to come up.

I know someone who made beer with those hops. Neo Mexicanus IIRC (Jon?). I found them, but was not there at the right time to take any. which is fine, since I grow my own here at home. I did not know about the currants and choke cherries. very cool!

I just want to drink the beer, didn't read all the comments 😅
