Yeah we do have a stock height set and a raised set that is 2"+. Perhaps we threw in the wrong main support or messed up on the measuring the piece/or where it was bent.

hey, while i was out there, i snapped some pics for you of the lower plate. its not done, i just put it up there so i can continue mocking up the front end sheetmetal. i need to place a peice of tube underneath the peice so i can support the tube better

i got my seat leather fixed. you would never know, that the air bag went off and ripped the seat open! :smokin:

now i need to find the back peice of the seat, the molded peice that covers the back of it. they are hyundai tiburon GT seats.

i have a problem that i didnt see when i was building the cage. any ideas? i was going to section the tube to clear the motor, but then i thought, what if i just get a newer style windshield so the motor is on the bottom? i have more room down there.

so.... other things im doing.

spreaders for the windshield.

a neat little thingie that goes on my highlift, so it will grab tube and not slip. i made it out of a peice of scrap 1 3/4, and some 2x3 box steel crap.

i cut the 1 3/4 in half and hit the back side of it with a sledge to flatten it out a little. reason being, is the ford i have is 1 3/4 tube for bumpers, and this thing is 1 1/2 for rockers.... it works for both tube.

also, in the works is some way to hold my bling radiator. i need my band saw back over at the house, and a shipment from AA to keep going on some things

am i screwed? i took off a front tire to put my calipers on, and the tire was SUPER flat where it had been sitting on the floor. i turned it 180 degrees, but im worried about my boggers now. i know i know, shut up about they wont balance, i know. but you think getting them hot a couple times will fix them up again and make them round?

i already have BB's in them. im worried about the huge flat spot on them.

cant really "normal" balance them anyways with beadlocks :)

On the later model windshields the wiper motor is on the outside so you shouldn't have any clearance issues...If you have an older hardtop to mate up you will have to make the windshield channel work with the newer windshield frame but that shouldn't pose any problems for you

One thing to keep in mind is the availability of wiper motors...IIRC you can still get '79 and up motors but not the older ones. You can retro a '79 and up motor to earlier frames but it requires the later model cover to do so...Just food for thought if you end up looking for a new windshield frame.

BTW, rig is looking great!

so....... i found a complete LS1 and 4L60e w/ harness and ECU for 2400 bucks.......

Hub Stud queston - FJ40

Halo...I'm in the process of rebuilding knuckles, etc and converting to disc (JT Outfitters) in the front of my 74 LC FJ40...had the standard 12mm 1.5 for studs in the hub - they are way to short...are the replacement studs you are referring to in your post for standard type FJ40 hubs? Is the knurl on the stud the same as original? You said you got a part # from napa 641-1110 - cross reference to a dorman 610-073. What was the length on these? Any info would be appreciated... I've searched all over trying to get longer studs for my hubs with ZERO success...everything out there is 1.5 inches long (1.75 including the backing plate on the stud)...

Thanks

question:

since the cage is pretty triangulated, do you think i need gussets anywhere?

point them out with a reason, if you could :D

tomorrow is the big day. the cruisah sees daylight!!!!

im pulling the cage out to clean weld and paint it. then it goes in the back yard.

i think it looks good, but it definitely needs one of those bottle opener gussets somewhere...
