This one took me a while... found no cracks, replaced gasket, still leaked. Messed up bypass hose and got a new one- Napa’s version is on the shorter side; it will be replaced with a gates or oem. Replaced hose and it still leaked. Took it back apart and found a dot..the pic shows the dot enlarged after probing it with my trusty SAK..

It was but a spec at first, then became the cavity you see.

It is bathing in an inside outside jbweld sleeve, as it is too close to the body to fix with a longer hose and wider clamp. This is a get me by at best... dang stat housing kit is gunna cost as much as the radiator... and I was going to do the fe conversion in spring. Man, maybe I should just start the efi mod now??? Tones of home..,

Oh. Fab shop close by? Buy the welder a case! .

Put stainless heli-coils in bolt holes before you close it up. And use stainless bolts. Trust me.

Got a used one inbound for cost of a case of good beer... the jb weld held this morning. Radiator not so good...

The pink Dalmatian! Ha! No, just got it painted- Jake took to calling the wife’s fj62 the pink Dalmatian when it first got pocked up with primer spots a filler- my paint guy Alex added red to the primer. It came out pink. It doesn’t look bad close up, but does need another 40 hours cut and polish... and then Alex and me can fix the spots we missed. Doh!
