Awe heck. If I eat the rabbit I’ll have nothing to look up my hole at... besides, I’d starve eating those skinny bastids

Heard a loud clicking coming off the freeway the other day on my way home from work. Found a leaking gas line- not click related- fixed it, then found the drivers rear to be the source of the click. Took it apart and found rotors well below discard spec. Pulled the long side shaft and the grease still looked red and tacky and smelled brand new since the close to 24k I’ve put on these hubs( thank you, oh great one...) decided not to yank the third and keep it simple and replaced the rotor/drums and pads. It is nice to be able to get cheap rotors on a Sunday... no more clicking; stops like yesterday.

so the old speedo was NOISY!!! omg, it is almost QUIET now. put in a VC120 vapor can and now the fuel doesn't blow out of the gas cap.
still trying to dial in the carb after adjusting the valves, changing out the broken dipstick guide tube, and putting a new pan gasket in. had to glue the drain plug to the pan with fipg as the pan is dented at the drain plug port, but slowly getting the new motor to stop bleeding everywhere. the slow cut jet is starting to leak, so I either need to move ahead on the 3FE, or rebuild this carb before the thing burns down. got a line on some free fj62 rear springs I plan to use on the front end to get the shackle angle to be anything but STRAIGHT UP. gunna hafta get humpin if I'm gunnna build a camper box for it before the big show...:bounce:

I may have my old front FJ60 springs here.

Thanks, J! I need the rears tho, to gain some angle on the shackles; stupid shackle reversal...

Retimed the wiper motor so the blades don’t sit mid stroke when they’re parked...

OK, so the OEM carb is starting to leak at the secondary slow jet valve, and it idles like poo when its warm. still trying to find out what is wrong. I can't tell if its rich or lean when its warm, but it sounds like a top fuel drag car trying to keep loping at the starting light. it sounds GREAT in the mornings, and for the first 15 minutes in the afternoon...maybe it's getting too much fuel at warm idle? carbs suck.

I was just wondering about you and if the flatbed is getting ready for the trip.

campsite is paid for, and I have the fuel money stashed away. as long as the pig and I can keep pace, we're planning on making it. already did the first stint in the doghouse over it. 16 weeks and counting...

make that 14 weeks...DOH!

I feel yer pain...
