I know one of my 3B 5 speed shaft came off a 85 BJ42 LX out of Netherlands.
So I got the 3B big valve + 5 speed from Joe Katana up near Dallas maybe 7 years ago. The reason I got this was because it had the 5 speed top cover for 40 series that was shifted forward. It had a splitcase that was a 34mm idler. I remember that it was an LX and had funky stripped colored seats that looked zebra like.10/85 is actually the start of the model year in markets like the US that have a model year. That is the date for the input shaft and bearing retainer change.
Would be curious on the build date of the 85 BJ42 LX? I know the long wheel base 40 series were produced and sold in small number up to 4/86. Haven't seen any FJ40 or BJ42 made past 10/84. 11/84 was the start of the 70 series.
