Hello everyone.

Has anybody used this kit: TOYOTA L/C 4SP TO CHEVY LS GEN3 - https://www.advanceadapters.com/toyota-lc-4sp-to-chevy-ls-gen3
to swap an LS engine to a H55 from a HJ61?

Advance adapters says the kit was made for the H41 and the inputshaft and/or boltpattern on the H55 from a diesel engine will not match, can someone confirm this?
It can be made to work. You need to grind out the area for the H55f to mate to it. I have used it twice on H55f conversions. The tranny will not be clocked, meaning the front output on the tranny will be a tad higher than before, but should not effect much. I have done it in 40 series, but should work in a 60 series or anything with a LS and H55f combo.

thank you for the quick response :)

So the FJ and HJ H55s both have the fine spline input shaft and but the BJ H55s have the coarse splined one?

You would not want to use that kit for a 60 series. It wil not clear your firewall at all. You need the style that bolts in front of a 2F/3F bellhousing. Yes, your H55f will work fine if it's a HJ61.
I sell mounts, sensor adapters, am adealer for the proper adapter. etc and would be happy to help you with the parts and guidance of the swap

NO, the F and H input is coarse and the B input is fine spline and longer

It's actually going into a Grand cherokee ZJ, basically transplanted everything from my old rusty HJ61 back in the day.

I know, sacrilege of the highest degree...

so the input shaft is not an issue, just the mounting surface/bolt pattern?
The reason I'm dotting all the Is and crossing all the Ts is I'm in iceland and have to import all of this stuff and returns are not something I'm very excited for 😅

To mate the two together, yes, you have to grind out and area in the opening of the bell housing so the input area of the H55f fits. then it bolts up.

Like Matt said, the distance frrom the back of the engine to the shifter will not work in a 60 series, I forgot about that. But in a Jeep, who knows. If you have the 6 cyl from a 60 series now and it fits, then, yes you need the Marks adapter to space everything properly.

Best bet would be to give CruiserMatt a call/email above and get all the parts in one delivery.
