H11 Low/Hi Beam Replacements for 2009- Anything decent out there?

Just offering another option for anyone interested.

I'm a fan of IPF lighting. ARB has been going with them for some time. I have the first version of these and they are very, very bright. Perfectly white, not blueish or anything. Also there is no separate ballast to mount somewhere. Just a wire to plug into the factory harness, that's it.

The new version is a little brighter and offers better cooling (I couldn't even imagine brighter, I don't plan to ever add auxiliary lighting because these are all I need)
On my 2008 I replaced my worn out factory lenses (expensive) and also installed IPF/ARB led lights. They are freakin incredible. I had dealer go into the menu and turn off DRL.
I am surprised i haven’t been pulled over yet as they are so bright.

Me too. I have had a few cops stare at me but never been pulled over. I tried having my lenses sanded down to remove yellowing. It worked on one side.

I also got the ARB IPFs based on Tacos suggestion. Just the lowbeams so far. 1 year in and no complaints. I've never had anyone flash their lights or indicate that they were too bright or blinding. Also purchased from Amazon Japan and saved some $$.

I have a 2008. I haven't checked again since I first installed the lights to see if I missed the setting. I just run the lights on it doesn't bother me too much.

Wish I could shut mine off... Fellow campers (for example) would appreciate it when it’s dark & I’m pulling near tents, etc.

Do you mean the user menu? Or do you mean via techstream connection by the dealer?

It has to be techstream on the 08.

Thanks! Really glad to hear it can be done at all!
Will likely do it on mine...though I do see the value of DRL.

**Do you happen to know if it means that sets them to always-off? Or does it open up a screen option so you can toggle them on/off?

Always off.

Always off.

OK.Thx.
I have a feeling California dealers will decline to do it...because of liability over turning off a safety feature...

Get a cable and software. Or find a local member to help you out.

Would this be the right techstream stuff? Assuming you have it.

Those Hikaris burn out very quickly. I've had 2 burn out before they were replaced. And I am not a fan of the light output compare to OEM LEDS of other Toyotas. YMMV.

How quickly? I've only had mine for a year, and no issues yet. I've had other cheap LEDs die quickly (less than two months).

My first bulb went out 3-4 months after purchase, my 2nd bulb went out ~ 1 yr. Thankfully, they have a 2 yr warranty but I am not optimistic they will hold on after 2 yrs.

Yes, for 2009. You point bulbs down if you dont like blinding people. Very bright. I have a new problem, my dads S-class with fancy high powered xenons feel dim to me and I have to strain my eyes at night. With my LC, I can see deer shadows more than half mile away clear as day. At first I didn't like being the jerk on the road with the bright headlights but now I depend on them. I am a knight rider and drive 80mph most of the time an hour every night. With my Icons and the 5.7L 80mph feels like the sweet spot. Since the LC doesnt have AMG stop on a dime brakes I need more light to anticipate a situation. The IPF LED upgrade was my second favorite after the suspension.

I have the OME 2 inch lift.As I understand it, if I simply adjust cutoff to where my regular halogens were at a 25 foot distance from wall, we should be ok? Or, to compensate for brightness do you adjust for slightly lower?

I wouldn't know. I would think same as the halogens.

FYI my IPF V2 High Beam I placed in my fog light has burnt out a second time. May try Hikari's for fogs.
