So, got home a couple hours ago - ran the kids and wife around the block and everyone loves the new ride. I'm officially home with my GX, long trek home from Houston back to AZ.

The truck was advertised as a KDSS-equipped machine - turned out not to be true. The outfit I bought it from simply did a VIN lookup on a public site and it was wrong (I was personally also using the clublexus site for my own VIN lookups and it also showed the vehicle with KDSS). So.....buyer beware but those damn websites aren't reliable - their data isn't accurate. I got the actual window sticker from a Lexus dealer local to Houston (nice guys, very prompt at helping me out once I crawled under and noticed it was NOT KDSS I was looking at).

Due to this discrepancy, and the fact that I called them out on doctoring the ad pictures (the actual rig has numerous paint dings that the pics didn't show, the windshield was also completely destroyed and they replaced while I was there with a new rain-sensing unit.....grrrrrrr), I got the purchase price down ~$1,500 off what was listed. Not a screaming deal, all things considered, but I got a white non-Nav, 1-owner, low-ish mile unit (~97K) with the timing belt already done.

She's ALL MINE......and damn that thing hauls arse!!! :) :)

Thx again everyone for sharing some details/data with me as I closed in on a purchase. Can't wait to get started with the requisite lift/tires/sliders/etc......

I've noticed with my 08 that I get about 40 miles more a tank when i run 93 over 87 or 91, and get about 80 miles more when i run ethanol free. I'm not in the top end of the rev range to make the VVTI kick in and make a difference, but do feel a bit of seat of the pants hp when running the higher octane fuel.

Thx for this. My trek home wouldn't be a good one to start gauging how many miles to expect per tank (hills, passing semis, etc.). What do you generally get per tank on 93 oct?

Not to mention you got the best color (I may be biased) lol

I live on relatively flat ground. The most miles I've gotten out of a tank was loaded for a week at the beach. 423 miles, but had ridden the gas light for a few too many miles. Put 22.7 gallons in the tank.

I'm easy on the throttle (unless its hammertime), easy off the throttle, and coast a lot in N. I hang out about 70-75 in traffic on the interstate.

I average 330-340 on 87 octane 10% eth, 350-360 on 93 octane 10% eth, and 380-400 on 93 pure gas. Those are highway miles, so drop about 10-15% for city driving(or my daughter driving). 91 octane pure gas is available in FL, and I was averaging 365 miles of mixed driving running that exclusively, and had 25-40 miles less when I ran eth. ih8ethfuel......

Took a drive in the mtns a couple weekends ago (nw north carolina), and still got about 350 miles out of the tank.

Mine is stock on stock streetie tires.

I have never put more than 21g in my tank, and that was on E for a looooong time with the fuel light on. I am pretty sure I either dented my tank through my skids (very possible) or I just have a smaller tank :p

I'm partial to that color and year too. Looks like a great score.
