I just got off the phone with Ben. He has not started taking deposits and has a list of about 15-20 committed buyers. He said just email him through the website and he'll add you to the list as he is still going through the emails from this past weekend.

Did he have any updates on when he would take deposits and when this would start to get rolling?

No he didn’t provide a start date but assured that there’s enough interest to start prototyping. He’s very busy with all the current projects/orders and didn’t anticipate his shop to be this busy this time of the year.

Just spoke with Ben today and he still sounds busy - but I'm adding my name to the list... I'm trying to get a front bumper too... not many choices these days.

I haven't received any updates. I have been tempted by that Victory 4x4 bumper though.

Just received a reply that I was added to the buy list.

Any timeline?
I got a call back from Ben this morning. He reports no movement on the 120 bumpers. He is trying to hire more welders but don't hold your breath on this coming through anytime soon. I talked to him for a while as I would like to get a front bumper out of him someday if possible. I went ahead and ordered a victory rear bumper last night as my rear is cracked and I'm tired of driving it like that.

FYI Ben says the materials costs went up significantly (like triple) on his last order so he is currently going through the website and bumping up prices. This will likely be a problem with all manufacturers so it may be a good time to order now before the prices increase or be prepared to wait a while for steel to drop. I'm not sure if aluminum is similarly affected

I’ll definitely be ordering a Victory rear bumper sooner than later.

Thanks for the update.. TBH, I had forgotten that I was on the list (number 5 of the early summer 2020) however I would like like to get a front (with winch) and rear with swing and willing to wait.. I reached out to Ben and have cash burning a hole in my pocket and front and rear two of the last four things on my build for my rig. The two others are front and rear lockers..

The other options that I'am aware of are Victory and Metaltech.. Personally I prefer the Dissident front and rear, then Victory and then Metaltech.. What is the groups thoughts on these other non Dissident options?

4x4 Labs and Coastal Off-road (diy weld) also make rear swingout bumpers for the GX470.

Should be picking up my front bumper soon, it's done, only my schedule is holding me up, I'll see if I can get any info on likelyhood of rear bumpers.

Wow I just saw this. Please add me to the list for the rear bumper. Need to match the front!

It's official folks. The best swing-arm and latch system in the industry is coming to the GX 470 platform. 3D Scanning starts in January to finish the project, the majority of the bumper is already modeled, we just need to adapt our latest generation swing arms to the design.

DM me with your email address and I'll add you to our GX rear pre-order list. I'll be emailing everyone with the details.

Here is what we know about our upcoming GX rear, only photo I have is of our old prototype

Steel construction only
Priced inline with our LC100 steel rear ($1800)
Dual swing that accepts all of our standard Land Cruiser Swing Arms which are 40/40 split, swing arms are optional
Will feature either a) free integrated reverse lights (like the 100 rear) b) optional combo lights (stop/turn/reverse) like on the LC80/LC200

Product Features (preliminary)
  • Steel construction
  • Optional 40/40 split swing-outs are truly easy-open requiring little force to unlatch. Swing arms are gas strut assisted so they'll never close on you and they auto-latch when you slam them shut
  • Dual shear hinge makes a more rigid swing-arm that doesn’t rattle and requires less space making for a higher clearance bumper
  • Reverse lights in the bumper (either included or optional)
  • Will retain Trailer plug
  • ½” steel recovery points
  • 2” hitch receiver

I like dissent’s latch - it’s unique and beefy. But I’ve seen some posts on here about the spare tire mount drooping or tilting down over time.

Are there any plans to change to a welded tire mount with maybe spacer plates to account for bigger/thicker wheels? I’m sure everyone wants to just have it angled up so that level of adjustment isn’t necessary. It seems the droop is caused by use of the bolts to mount and position the tire carrier. Lots of off-road bouncing and vibrating causes the bolts to wear and the tire mount to droop.
