My gx was needed to rescue my 40 with a jump after the battery died a few blocks from my house.... I need to drive it more to keep the battery charged, and remember to keep the batt tender on it
I also picked up a set of the rubber floor mats for it today from a dealer. I know there are other good options that cover more but I’m a factory Toyota fan guy so I’m happy with the quality

Had enough of the tent camping thing. Sold my RTT and got a new-to-me off road trailer. This is a 2020 Intech Flyer Chase (the entry level trailer from Intech). The couple I got it from used it twice and it shows. It has a/c and heat.

Can’t wait to try it out in 2 weeks at the Toyota Jamboree. I’ve already added a 270* awning to the passenger side and an ARB 2500 with room enclosure to the driver side.

I love the marketing. "Make your battery 'furious' again!" But I use mine WAY more often for other people, and I've even used it to power a laptop at my daughter's wedding reception when the power supply for the slide-show went kaput. Pretty handy...

I look past the marketing. ..... this past winter used mine to start a quad with a 15 year old battery and a couple snowmobiles with batteries I am currently replacing.

Noob here..... Just bought a 2013 G460. Love it!
I bought my wife a 2017 GX460 a while back and I loved hers so much I had to find me one.
So far the only thing I've done is put a new set of tires on it... 265/65/18 Cooper A/Ts

For a while, my wife and I had two 100 series Landcruiser's. Same year ('98), same exterior color. Her interior was gray, mine tan.
She had hers first and I loved it so much I wanted one also so I could turn it into an overlander! (We had same year because those first couple of years of the 100 series had factory rear e-lockers! )
Some people find it kind of funny to have two identical vehicles in a family...

My wife is always saying we should've gotten two GXs back when we bought hers. She makes a good case, but I respond that one of us should get better gas mileage and it's nice to have a bit more versatility in our fleet so if I'd gotten a GX she would've gotten a mini van. That usually ends the conversation. The girl loves her truck.

I'm taking it out to Pismo this weekend to check out the dunes before they close 'em. Honestly, I'm a little apprehensive. Sand isn't really my favorite terrain, and I hate crowded OHV areas full of drunk a-holes, but I'm trying to stay positive and hope for a good trip. Maybe I'll get a chance hit the trails between SLO and Taft on the way back home, I like that area.

Just remember to bring traction boards (MaxTrax) and a good tow strap and you'll be fine!
Actually, anything you pull into forward, if you get stuck, and not push it, you can usually back out okay.

I'm an old hand at getting stuck. Plenty of experience there. I'll just bring my usual gear, shovel/straps/air compressor... The upshot of crowded OHV areas is that everyone wants to use their recovery gear and play hero if I do sink.

I'm much more worried about getting t-boned by a sand rail going freeway speeds or a rented ATV going under me. My last trip to Stoddard Wells was a fiasco and I turned around at the gate to El Mirage because it was a freaking zoo. I don't do good with large groups of intoxicated people, and I never understood folks who only seem to like off roading for the opportunity to drink & drive. It's a lot more fun sober in my experience.

My coworker who lent me a flag whip for the weekend called me names and said Pismo is calm compared to Glamis. I replied that Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos combined couldn't pay me enough to go to Glamis. Different strokes for different folks, and he's one of those two stroke folks.

I just don't get it either... I don't need to be in an altered state to "help me" appreciate where I'm driving and what's around me!
Also, too many people first timers who really have no idea of what they're doing, especially common sense. (like jumping over a blind sand dune without knowing what's on the other side.)
