It was $130/day, plus more for the ARB fridge and a security deposit I didn't get back when my wife snapped a key off in a door. Pretty reasonable compared to hotel rooms. Our first trip into the desert was more fun, Monache Meadows was a bit stressful at times with that thing behind me.
I have to agree, that is reasonable that you don't have to listen to someones headboard banging on the wall or loud TV.

Just picked up a 2020 premium with 37k on the odometer. I'm coming from a Tacoma, so it's a little bitter sweet, but I'm looking forward to making some changes to the GX (my Tacoma was a manual and I'm so done driving a manual in LA traffic). I'll probably keep things basic with wheels and tires, but I may do a little lift as well (not having CarPlay is a bummer, so I may do something about that). There are a few dings and things on the body, so I'm going to get those cleaned up first. I've only driven the GX home, but I'm loving how it drives ... plus, driving an auto again is so nice (I have my 78 FJ40 for when I want to shift gears).

When it comes to shifting gears, you just have to slap that stick to the lift and you'll have sequential up and down shifting! I use this often on twisty mountain roads and long down grades.
I used to hate driving my old Porsche's in So. Cal traffic with their stiff clutches. Yeah, sometimes I do miss rowing through the gears.
Although I think if I get another Porsche, it'll probably have paddle/steering wheel shifting.

Welcome to the 460 Forum! And congrats on your new(er) GX.
Nice setup on the 470, planning on the same thing for the 460?
Anything wrong with the 470? Or was it just time and the budget just right and the deal was too good to pass up?

Hit Death Valley for a 3D/2N trip this weekend with a bunch of 100 series friends.

We routed from Ballarat - Goler Wash Trail and Mengel Pass - Butte Valley (Striped Butte in pic) Warm Springs Rd - Badwater Basin and exited out to the 395 around Lone Pine.

Mengel had some technical bits but the rest of the trip was just super scenic and fun. Gas at Furnace Creek during refuel was $9.XX/gallon!

Great pics, but HOLY s***! $9 / gal??? That's insane.......

Careful on the bumps till you get your suspension!

Assuming 17” steelie. What size is the tire? I had a skinny 33s on my 80 but with 16” taco steelies.
These are a 33x10.5R17 was also looking at 255/80R17.

Which Work wheels are these? They look awesome! Any rubbing with those 285s?

Work Meister S1HC No rubbing with the 285's but I did do a body mount chop/massaage the plastic fender liner with a heat gun at the rear. At the front I took the screws out of the fender liner pulled it forward 1" and put the screws back in.

Thanks! I'm looking to order wheels and tires soon. I'd like to do a mild lift to squeeze 285s under it, but who knows. My 470 needed some TLC that I didn't have the time or space to address so I decided to get something more updated and reliable. The deal on my trade in was great, but the purchase price in this market was far from it haha!

Thank you for the response and the tip on the 285s. If you have time would love to know the offset. I'm thinking those tires will still look pretty meaty within the well after a 2" lift.

I love the look of the 285 with a 2” front and rear lift. I will say for daily driving and my actual lifestyle, I might downsize in the future. I’m not really wheeling very often and when I do I don’t think I couldn’t do it with one size smaller tire 🤷🏻‍♂️
These Toyo’s seem like they’re wearing pretty slow so it may be a while for me to go down.
Also a full size 265/70r18 was the biggest I could fit in the factory location 👌🏻

The truck had an Ironman Foam Cell Pro lift on it, I believe it was about 2 inches with their UCA's I liked the lift so much I just bought same lift for our 100 Series. Put 50K miles on the GX lift in under 1.5 years with no issues.

The wheels were 17X8.5 with a -10 offset.

Just picked-up a 2022 GX460. The Nori Green required the Black Line Edition, of course, and that is only available in the premium trim level (vs premium plus and luxury).

Happy to be back with Toyota. Looking forward to getting used to this and tweaking a few things this summer. I waffled like CRAZY between this color, black and blue. I think this was the right choice for me after a long line of gray and black.
