Got a P/N for that?

There's also this thing, which is almost the same price as the OEM one, unless you can find one used. Cheaper than the other well known ones by a bit.

From google, looks to be: Part Number: 7760660200.

I got mine off fbook marketplace, you should be able to find one pretty easy as the 4runner crowd upgrade their armor. I scored this one for only $50.

BTW, nice thing about this install, the 4runner skid uses the same mounting holes and hardware, just need to get 2 extra screws for the 2 supports in the back.

This is the way to go: Buying a 4runner tank skid new from Toyota has got to be as much as much as any of the aftermarket stuff, but $50 used is a deal. The Toyota/Lexus factory skids are also stronger than people think - more than enough for incidental hits but still worth upgrading if you play in the rocks or make dumb, but funny, decisions like me)
A buddy of mine is trying to build his old Forester into a light off roader on the cheap. We have been working out how to repurpose/refab my OEM GX skids into something that fits under a Subaru (see above statement about dumb but funny decisions).

I wonder if the interchangeability between the earlier 120 series (GX470/4th Gen 4R) and the 150 series (GX460/5th Gen 4R) will be similar with prices being cheaper on the Toyota side of the isle with the new GX550/LC?

How do the Greenstuffs stop? I'm throwing in a set this weekend. 33s made my brakes a bit less responsive than I'd like.
Thought about this a lot. I was wrong. They stop way better. I am tire limited now and not brake limited. Just bedded the 4Runner and it's even more noticeable. That being said the 4Runner is being noisy. I accept it's part of the process but my partner is less than thrilled. I had warned them up front, too. So hopefully they finish breaking in soon.

Very happy with mine so far!

Slightly aired down I could get a stop on loose gravel with almost no ABS interaction. The GX has 50 lb Revo LT E load range tires and the 4Runner has really light michelin all seasons 245/60r20. Both vehicles are within 100# of stock weight. Just so the variables are counted for as well.

On the way home I lowered the window and heard a faint squeak at wheel RPM. Maybe there's a rock jammed between the rotor and heat shield, but I haven't been wheeling in a couple months so I'd still be surprised. Hope I don't have to actually fix anything. I've been enjoying the low maintenance costs.

I've had that happen on street cars. Usually backing up ejects the rock but it might take more than a few feet. I think I had to remove a wheel and pry the rock out once.

I grew up on dirt roads, so it was a common occurrence once I got a car with disk brakes. I wouldn't be too bothered by it myself, but this is my wife's daily and she pointed it out so I'd better do something.

Pro Tip: If you yank your winch ground cable to get it reconnected to your new battery, and think "I wonder if I pulled it loose at the control box" you should confirm that the winch still works before you pull cable out on the winch...
I have to laugh because as an ex professional cabler I still do the same thing even though I know better.

Interesting to see him converting from crusty, solid-axle junk :).

He is right though. One of my wheeling buddies had a YJ and now has a JK. The YJ was much closer to my John Deere tractor than my GX in about every single way (the JK is pretty nice though). My kids have fallen asleep in their carseats for an hour plus when we've been wheeling in the GX before as well.

That's our group lol.

Two tractors, a GX and two batteries (we have an FJ Cruiser not shown and also another Rivian, an R1S). The XJ is a bit of a rare example too. 2 door 4.0 Manual with factory tire carrier.

FWIW, I really do love the XJ. Tons of them are still running around here. Most of them are beat to crap from time in the woods. It's extremely rare to see any of them that aren't beat-to-crap. They were on my off-roader list when I started looking to replace my previous Forester, but I struck them due to the lack of any clean models for sale and ancient tech and safety.

People are genuinely shocked at how smooth the GX remains off road when compared to anything else. Obviously MRRs and fancy bumpstops and KDSS are a big part of that but it's become a running joke in our group about how crappy everything else feels after riding in the GX.

I loved my XJ, but what a piece of crap compared to everything else I've owned. It was a 2 door/ 4 banger with good axles and low gears. I was replacing parts every weekend, and wheeling it once a month. Fun while it lasted, but when I saw my chance to upgrade to a Land Cruiser in 2018, I jumped at it.
