Ditto, I didn't own them back-to-back, but it seems like it does as well off-road as my first 4th gen 4Runner, which was lifted 3", had 255/85/16 KM2s, and didn't have sway bars. Feels like only at-the-limit flex is worse with the GX.

Add crawl control a few hundred bucks, and it's pretty incredible.

All of the stuff I have done I have found the GX is within about 95% of a 2 door rubicon. With 32-33" tires
My 470 flexes more with swaybars connected than my buddy's JK (verified using his trailer as a makeshift RTI ramp 
). With his bars disconnected, he can of course out-flex me. On 33s I have probably 1-2" more front ground clearance and ~3-4" more clearance under the rockers. I'd be curious to see how a KDSS 150 platform rig with comparable mods does - my guess is it would not be that far off from a stock JK.
Drove mine into the city today for work meetings and enjoyed cruising at 80 mph in leather-wrapped comfort, listening to podcasts via Android Auto, enjoying aux V8 noises when merging, and yet I somehow managed to get 17.2 mpg as well. All in a 17-year old vehicle with 182K on it.

Agreed, but for myself, I didn't purchase my GX for rock crawling, but to build the ultimate overlander, which I did.
In worst case, I can keep up with most jeeps on most trails, with my front and rear lockers, but again, didn't build it for that, The lockers are for emergency extractions.
Anyone who is looking to get a GX for rock crawling, you need to look somewhere else, e.g.: early solid axle Toyota trucks, Jeeps (cough, cough, did I actually say that??) or a solid axle conversion.
The GX excels above and beyond most any other vehicle in it's class for it's size, comfort, trail ability and not leaving you stuck somewhere where there's not cell service.
If I won an 8 or 9 figure lottery tomorrow, for an overlander, I'd still build up a GX, albeit, probably one of the new GX550's.

Last car I owned was a 67 mustang with a 289. In the mid 70's running a trapline with it the front shock mounts were rusted so bad that they went through the hood on the trail up Maple Hill. Figured then a car wasn't going to suit my lifestyle. They still don't haven't owned one since.
Online I am usually at Upland Journal a website for bird hunters. We tear our bodies up busting brush getting to birds going into the most remote places we can and hopefully no one else has been there or can get to it. I am likely the average age which would be 70 or close to it, not many younger people are into it anymore. A few are showing up so I have some hope for the future and that some hunting dogs down the road will get to taste feathers which a birddawg was breed for. Not a walk on pavement in some damn city.
Like most on UJ have always been no frills just more stuff to break and go wrong down the road. Luxury? That is renting a cabin instead of sleeping in the bed of the truck. I now rent cabins though so I'm in the Luxury camp LOL.
The GX was a game changer for me and I can never go backwards. I can drive a full day and get out ready to go instead of opening the door and wondering if I am going to fall out. Of course stopping to get gas all the time helps keep the joints lubed and juiced up
In just shy of a month I will leave my driveway and drive North into Canada until the pavement gives out. Stay in a cabin with 3 other retired Navy guys hunting and fishing and exploring. Maps are at least 20 years behind and most roads on them are not passable. We go until they aren't passable anymore and then mark the maps. Then back home for a week then up to the tip of the Mn. Arrowhead. Until those trips are complete I will not know exactly how off road capable the GX really is. But so far am liking what I see and have to believe it is the most capable off road vehicle I have yet owned.
It is the most comfortable vehicle I've owned by far. My main hunting and shooting friend was blown away after riding in the GX. His wife's first Gen Tundra of 18 years gas tank strap rusted through a couple of weeks ago and dropped. He had it repaired to sell it and drove to the cities in his FJ with her to a Lexus dealership based on the ride of the GX. They took delivery last week of a Lexus car (500 something?) and she loves it.
Once you know what you didn't know it is hard to go back. The GX stays if I need to upgrade the 550 is next on the list. But not anytime soon I hope.

Something else I realized when I had the JK-R is to really wheel a wrangler on 37s or larger you really need bigger axles. I'd rather have a yota with Marlin Crawler Suspension and transfer case goodies.
To be fair, my current want for larger tires will become much more relevant when I move and actually have things I can't do because I only have 33s.

I was able to self repair my LG C1 OLED TV this week. Issue was from my tube amp which occasionally puts line voltage onto the input jacks.
It's 64 years old so I snagged an audio fuse. I got a week reviewed inexpensive DAC and am using toslink to electrically isolate the TV Control Card from my Eico.
It's probably just grumpy cause I put Soviet power tubes in it.

I signed an offer today. I am psyched and massively relieved. I don't have a degree so I wasn't getting a lot of callbacks. Should be in Colorado by late October.

It was unrelated to the job. I went out to spend the long weekend with my partner as they had already started Law School. I bought my ARB skids from them and talked with one of the folks that works there for a minute, back in 2022.Congrats and good luck! Lol, I never had any interest in tube amps, for several reasons including adding yet another variable for sound quality... but tube guys will never give them up.

At this point I'm honestly kind of waiting for the whole "college" thing to blow over.
College and experience are not the same. Just need to look for small businesses that know this vs. corporations with HR departments that don't do anything but front run that whole scam. Coming from someone that has a degree and went to college. I do have a job in my degree field, but I can tell you with high degree of certainty I have not referenced a single book I read in college since I left there.
