I like our 2022 Blackline because it is way more modern but still feels classic GX/Pradoish. I can't wait for the time when we can do some mild work on it and get up a bit, sliders and skids, and a nice lift. 2024 goals. The interior on the 22+ is just so much better!!

That is a way better layout!

Installed the Victory 4X4 roof rack this weekend. Very well packed and the overall quality is great. The only thing I don't like is how the front fairing fits. I should have looked more closely at their own website pics, as is shows it not matching the roof line well either. I did submit a lengthy review to them suggesting some revisions for better fitment as it is a $1,100 roof rack, and we will see if they actually do anything about it.

Here is how the fairing sits on my 17 if I try to get the weather stripping to make contact with the roof. You can see it is still not making contact at the edges. I'm aware I can adjust the weather stripping down a little, but it's so hard to make it look even and still have a good seal against the roof.

@jonshonda that's a bummer, unfortunately $1k+ for a roof rack is the new norm these days
Aluminum right now is brutal.

As to the fitment, I have seen worse, I get your gripe given that it ain't cheap, however if it doesn't make a ton of noise I wouldn't worry about it. ETA I am not sure I want it touching my paint anyhow. Looks like a great spot to have end up warn through to metal.

The other option is scribing it and shaping it with a belt sander. That's what I would do if I wanted it to be dead nuts on. I have a little Porter-Cable 371, perfect for a first proper beltsander or for more delicate shaping that a larger one would be too unwieldy. Make sure to only use Mirka paper regardless of the sander as it will yield much better results.

I hadn't realized there was an interior refresh, much better looking. (I don't care for tech and this still blows the pants off the older interiors. Why they still have a CD player, we will never know.

Quick Google tells me the average age of a Lexus buyer is 55-60 y/o, so CDs are still "relevant"?

Who do you think buys buick, cadillac, lincoln, mercedes, etc. I think it's likely due to an original contract with the supplier that guarantees money, so instead of just paying them out and getting rid of it, they make it anyways.

Probably right on that.

Or it would take more engieering and packaging redesign than is worth it for them to put was is estentially a space filler lol. Anyone deleted the CD player, would be a great spot for comms.

The 2010 SC430 was the last car to sell in the US with a tape deck. It's sort of a Lexus thing, but I think that also helps keep the V8/solid axle/body on frame GX for now.

New norm or not, if it's custom I expect a custom fit, and for it to fit right.

It's not so much about the noise as it is all the bugs that will get wedged in the gaps, and just the overall look of it. I plan to put PPF on the areas where the weatherstriping contacts the paint..

Yeah I've got the tools I need to fabricate, but the fairing honestly needs to be about an inch longer so the top matches the rest of the rack.

I think PPF is a good idea. I see where you are coming from on the bug thing. Pain in the ass.

I have over 1,700 CDs, and yes I am 61. I still play CDs at home, but once I learned how to put music on flash drives I never looked back for road use. I haven't ever even tried the CD player in the GX.

The entire 2022 we own is covered in PPF and then ceramic!

That's cuz you rich!! haha I really want to have the front and rear bumper, and the rocker panels (where you knock dirt off your your shoes when getting in and seated) covered in PPF.

Similar, but not nearly as many CD's. Before that cassettes, and before that, 8-tracks. When car audio started to come with thumb drives I'd copy my favorite tunes to USB drives, so when off roading, when the CD's started to skip on every stink'n bump I'd plug in the thumb drive!
Now I don't even use that! We use Spotify, and I have a several music lists downloaded from there to my phone. If the signal gets spotty, Spotify just reverts to saved selections!

Wonder what'll be next???
