Hi @TRD83 sorry for reviving an old thread. I'm going to travel to Ecuador next month and I'm thinking about bringing back a set of rocket panels with me for my 460. My question to you is, which parts besides the rocker panels you actually needed to install them? You mentioned on your original post that not everything you got was really needed. Thanks!

...which parts besides the rocker panels you actually needed...

I think I saved a file with PNs I used and didn't... I'll try to locate the file.

Are you interested in Prado mudflaps or just the rockers?

Sorry to bother you but I'm flying to Quito this weekend. Did you get a chance to look for the part numbers? I am interested in the mud flaps as well. Thanks!

THREAD HIJACK

Apologies and introduction....Cruiser Brothers is a specialist importer/distributor of products from Australia - Terrain Tamer HP brakes and repair kits, Harrop elockers, Long Range Automotive fuel tanks and Wholesale Automatics upgrades for Toyota transmissions.

We also do favors for friends as logistics service. One such friend is Kaymar 4WD. In that role, we are able to help Kaymar with inbound shipments of bumpers and accessories. If you are interested in purchasing Kaymar products, please visit Kaymar Rear Bars, Wheel & Jerrycan Carriers and go shopping. Please contact Kaymar at sales@kaymar.com.au for pricing and order placement. They will propose, price and arrange shipping quote, including transport to a freight terminal near you for pick up.

Kaymar products are not inexpensive, but well crafted, complete and well documented for installs. Great people, great products.

This is a synergistic relationship for us as we are seeing a number of our tank purchasers also buying Kaymar rear bumpers to carry the spare.

If you have 60, 80, 100, 200, GX or FJ Cruiser, these bumpers are worth a look and worthy of consideration - even if you need to save up...

And if you have questions, feel free to stop by MULE Expedition Outfitters Grand Opening Open House in Issaquah on April 7. MULE is an Authorized Dealer for Long Range Automotive Fuel Tanks and they have installed Kaymar products in the past. See the GX 460 below :)

I will be at MULE's open house and will do a 30 minute presentation on LRA tanks and other cool stuff you can buy and install at MULE.

Like the bumper for the 460. I’m in the market for one. What is the max size tire on that swing out? I’m running 275/70/18, and worry it wouldn’t fit. Thanks for the post.

I do not know. Shoot Kaymar an email - they are very responsive.

Heres a update so you can see where the tires (and TJM steps) are with Spidertrax spacers front and rear.

Contiplating 1.25" spacers on our rig. We put bfg k02, 275/65/18, which should be about 1/2 taller and not quite that much wider than yours.

We have a tiny amount of front rub at full turn. Wonder if the spacer will help that, but hurt rub at other spot.

I did the same thing and the spacers definitely bring the tires and rims flush with the body lines. I had to take a heat gun and really work the fender liners after the spacers. But it wasn't much work.

I have one that I was going to use on my wife's GX but will now be replacing my MetalTech bumper. Should be installed in the next month or so, if you don't mind the wait. Kaymar's website says that the max tire size is 32", but I am going to be trying to fit my spare 285/70/17 on it. I will post updates on my build thread once it is installed.

So... Do you guys do sub tanks for the GX460?
Or larger volume replacement tanks?

Do you happen to have a picture from inside looking at the rear backup camera view with the Kaymar on? Or did you move the backup camera?

So the end product is great, but there's a few small differences between the prado and the GX that required some extra trimming. Specifically on the underside of the rear center frame rail - maybe additional reinforcements, as I'd guess the tow rating is higher on gx than the prado - there was some interference between bumper and Kaymar. Once that was cleared up, just made a super conservative cut on the Lexus Bodywork/ bumper and attached it then worked it down to correct, as the templates were not close enough to be helpful.

Out with the old

In with the new. Fit and finish is amazing - looks like it could have come this way from Lexus.

TRD83, I am in the process of installing my Kaymar and have a few questions you may be able to help with. There are a few parts I am trying to identify the function for before I go through the process of installing them.

The first are these two brackets that get riveted to the body. I can't figure out their purpose. Any idea?

The second are these arms that hang down from the horizontal support brackets. Any idea what attaches to them, if anything? Passenger side one is interfering with my re-routed exhaust and I am trying to figure out if I can cut it off.

Okay I think I found the answer to one of my questions thanks to LRA's website. It appears the hanging tabs are to attach Prado mud flaps. So it looks like I can safely cut them off.

I believe the riveted brackets are to support the shape of the body panels and prevent them from bending inward. I may even use a double-sided foam tape to attach the body panels to these supports to hopefully prevent any movement/contact noise.

How many gallons is that?

It's 135 liters, or about 36 gallons. Doesn't work with KDSS. This is what Cruiser Brothers and LRA are starting with for a design for the GX 460, but multiple modifications will need to be made for it to work. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

275/65r18 w/1.25 spacer will work? Did you lift the truck?
