nice looking

Funny. Last fall, I was discussing lifts with Kevin at Toytec, and he sent me some photos (the first pic of yours being one of them) When I saw your wheels (the first of that design I'd ever seen), I knew then the wheels I wanted.

Welcome to MUD, and thanks for the inspiration!

Love those wheels. They look super clean with the center caps. Did you have to run spacers to get clearance for the center caps or were they a straight bolt on?

Thanks for the compliments. Actually Kevin has been working with me through 2 different lifts to get it right I used to build show cars for my self and customers I'm a little anal about my vehicles. The Doug Thorley's gave me back the lower end I lost with the 33" tires. I have checked the mileage has increased 1.5 to 2 MPG on average 25 miles each way to work and back plus trails. Huge top end gains from 3500 RPM and up it's like boost I also have a Volant Intake which I modified to be quieter and a Cat back exhaust and High flow cats installed I can get on the Freeway up to 70 MPH and not go over 2200 RPM, No dyno pulls but all the manufactures have dyno results on their web pages. I definitely happy with the results plus it sounds like a V8 when you get on it . The Wheels are FN Wheels they are not available on the web site Dustin the owner can not keep them in stock I will paste his info below. The Blue Lex looks good glad to inspire, Toytec now has my Lex on their website for parts. I have done a lot of modifications plus more to come any questions I will be glad to share my experiences.

Price: $699 + shipping for a set of four.

We sought to answer the demand from 4Runner owners / T4R.org members with this wheel. Many of us feel that the OE wheel missed the ball so to speak with the 7" wheel width. There is no debate as to whether or not a 7" wide wheel falls into the tire manufacturers' approved rim width range for the popular 285/70R17 tire size (it does not). Some will debate whether or not it is still safe, but at the end of the day if it's not in the tire manufacturers' approved specifications you may find your tires wearing prematurely or unevenly, and if so, the tire manufacturer is under no obligation to warranty your tires. This is also not to mention potential safety concerns with pinching a wider tire on too narrow of a wheel.

Consequently, we spent almost a year talking with 4Runner owners about this wheel. We discussed what improvements should made, and then we spent many hours working with our engineering and design time, testing, casting multiple samples, testing again, certifying the wheels, and finally coming up with the wheel you see here.

The specs of the FN Wheels ƒ(x) Pro are perfect for lifted 4Runners with larger tires (especially the super popular 285/70R17 size), but the ƒ(x) Pros will also work great with OEM suspension and OE sized 265/70R17 (or 265/65R17 tires for previous generation 4Runners). The quality of the wheels is consistent with FN Wheels' commitment to offering a premium product in the specs, colors, finishes, etc. that our customers want.

While we are still catching up on e-mails and forum messages please feel free to call us anytime to inquire about the wheels or to order a set: (951)735-1100. We will be adding the wheels to our website soon, but for now calling us to have a set shipped or to arrange a local pick up is the best way to order.

I am also available on my cell for you guys anytime: (714)390-9387.

Thanks again

Dustin

Thanks for the good info on the DT headers and wheels. I might be interested in a set of both (your wheels and the headers) at some point. Did you install he headers? Headers are usually a challenge in most vehicles how were these to instal

BTW what did you have to do or use to get your tent on an OEM rack?

I drove one of these and loved it. Yours is really nice!

I read this post and immediately tried to find your headers used. Is there a model/part # for your headers. Thanks in advance.
Maybe some pics of them on also would be nice.

Thanks for the compliments. The RTT actually bolted right up, the mounting rail on the bottom of the tent is adjustable and I adjusted the crossbars to their furthest position. I did have to replace the 3" mounting bolts with shorter 1 1/2".
The Poly bushings are great I have the energy brand but they did squeak so I drilled small holed the diameter of the spray can straw in the control arm through the bushing to the metal sleeve the part that is the source of the squeak, I insert the straw and give it a couple squirts of white lithium grease by by squeak. I'm not going to lie the headers were a task took a few breaks and a few beers for each side I let it sit over the weekend and did one a day tight work area and I had to cut a 14mm wrench in half to get to some of the bolts. Below is the link to get the headers also a description, Jason Burton gave me a good deal to be a test subject and they fit perfect. Doug Thorley part # THY-563-SS-C

FN Wheels

You mentioned a power and economy boost of 1.5-2 mpg, was this with just the headers or after the intake, headers, exhaust?

Sweet build. Wheels are sick.

Thanks for the info on the headers and such. Going to be calling In to get this going. I am all about hp and economy, plus having good luck with the DT stuff we have them on all of our vehicles already.

Thanks again ,
Jeremy
