Felix, it looks great the way it is.....

Mmmmm, PBR, nectar of he gods.

Felix,

Is nice!!

Of course my 40 is in the garage on jack stands.

Hope to get my new tires tomorrow.

BK
I need a spare. Got any spare rims? Maybe a 35-36” tire to go with it?

36" super swamper work for you? I even have a rim you can put it on, but it would be a bit narrow....

will swap for beer :grinpimp:

Thanks, again, Charlton!

BK,
Sounds great! I’m pretty sure that I’m going to go with 36” TSL Radials. I’ll send you a PM.

Felix,
Thank you for saving me the trouble of trying to sell them on the classified section.

Dan,
Just new tires for now. However, I got tired of watching your effortless rock crawling so I’m working on a SM465/3SPD TC swap. Hope to be at Coalminer if everything goes well.

Greytandy,
I apologize for the hijack. I would be in for a June GWNF run if I’m in town that weekend.::steer:

Charlton, you can fit 36"s on your sua truck??? I gotta see a pic of that, pls.

Best of luck on the driveline swap. I'm not sure yet if I'll make the coal miner.

Eventually I think I would like to go SOA. Right now I hope to make them work with what I have, which is a 4” lift and slightly longer than stock shackles. Of course trimming will be required plus I’m flipping the rear springs.

I put the new tires on the truck over the weekend so I can move it in and out of the garage. I’m not sure when I will get a chance to work on it. I have a couple of house projects that I’m trying to get finished up. I will post pics when I’m done.

So if this a go for June 7?

If enough people are still interested, yes. I need to get my new suspension installed and rebuild the rear axle. If I can't get these done before then, I will be out, but that doesn't mean it can't happen.

Count me in. If camping is involved may be up for that also.

I'm in. Probably in for camping, too.

Come on, Dave... you're going to plan a trip, set a date, and then bail? :D :D You don't need a lift to wheel in the GWNF.

I know. It's not the lift, it's my hemorrhoid-inducing stock suspension. Hitting the bump stops is brutal! My driver's side rear axle oil seal is failing too, though it's a slow leak and I think I can wheel with that. We'll see. It'll likely just be a day trip for me if I can make it.

Dave,
I'll help you out! You get the beer...and I'll bring a big flathead screwdriver, some pliers and a BFH. We won't need the "Silver Slapper" since we won't be removing the bearings, just the seal!

I remember John and Dan saying not to tap in the seal, but to line it up and SMACK IT! I can do that!!

Thanks Doug. I am actually replacing the bearings too. I'm a big believer in "while you're in there ...". I'm praying to lord jebus that I have the old-style bearings/races 'cause that's what I bought! Like you, I'm trusting the PO didn't do anything stupid.

That was SUCH a hassle. Thankfully, Fairfax Auto Parts came through for us. If it wasn't for the beer..it would have been tough to keep everyone there until that got resolved. Always have beer.

When are you planning on doing this? Remember, the only way mine came out was with the welder....then the slapper.

I haven't decided yet if I'll do it or help Ryan do it while I'm at his place. I know if I do it it's going to take some time (as I work slow), but Ryan can knock it out really fast.
