I like the idea plus I have the ARB - so add my name to the list as well.

Hope Ebag is staying strong and leading his pack true. Best thoughts to him and his family.

Oh, did Ebag run into some troubles? Best wishes to his family!

Is Stu now running the show?

I have been in contact with Gary and keeping the project going forward..

Thanks Otamiway/Stu! I had skipped some of the middle posts. Now I'm caught up. I'm really looking forward to a combination of clear lenses and dual purpose lights on the corner, bumper, and ARB all wrapped up into one.

Seems like things are moving forward and I'll be patiently waiting for Gary to add the ARB element to the wiring harness.

BR... can you post some pictures on the ARB signal set up. I am thinking pics of the back of the housing, the socket and wires.

Is your setup currently wired up, if yes, pictures of that would be nice.

I am trying to determine how much wire is needed to safely and securely go from the bumper up to the back of the LC indicator.

Did the ARB indicator come with a "plug" or did it come with bare wires ??

Thanks
Stu

It looks like we're going to have to all learn how to use a terminal pick tool.

Please let me know if you'd like more or better pics / info. You can click on these pics to enlarge, and probably go larger again from that size.

They are all located on my smugmug page here:

The measurement from the front of the ARB bumper back to the front of the turn signal is 6 inches.

IMG6184-X3.jpg

The measurement from the bumper to the back of the vehicle's blinker housing is about 13 inches.

IMG6180-X3.jpg

Not surprisingly, the wire on the light housing is about 15 inches.

The kit comes with a pair of white sockets which will hold the flat ends and mate with a wiring loom. The red things are called Scotch Loks, which don't have any idea about.

IMG6199-X3.jpg

The wiring loom has the mate socket on one end and bare wires on the other end.

IMG6201-X3.jpg

The wiring loom is 36 inches long.

Hope this helps. I can do more if you need it.

Why are the connections on the first set different from this new set?

It looks like we're going to have to all learn how to use a terminal pick tool.

Yes we will have to if we want the plug and play OEM style hook up.

Its a  process.

Chris (BR 13), thanks for the ARB pictures. I will pass them on the Gary at Innovative Wiring.

My initial thought is to source the Plug used by ARB and get it built into the harness. This way there is not splicing.

Stu

The first option had a "bulb" end on it which required you to plug into the sockets.

Couple issues 1. it meant you would have to seal up the socket. 2. the market light has a wedge bulb not a tradition bulb (1156 type)

The redesign takes advantage of factory weather sealed connections.

Advantages: 1. requires no splicing. 2. Weathers sealed connection. 3. Reversible

My pleasure! I can mail this stuff to Gary if that would help.

I have an older set of the tools from Pico, similar to this.

Pico 0660PT 3 Piece Weatherpack Tool Set

They are listed as being for domestic vehicles, but at least the smallest one will work on many Toyota terminals.

I have also found these at parts stores before.

Another is the one from Lisle, again listed for GM, but can be used on some others.
