No problem. I just thought I could assist ya. You've got a lot going on! Why are you up so early! It's 7:30am here, too early for me!

HA! I'm usually up around 430-5 most days... Yeah, I'm busy these days. But, almost caught up on orders. So, I just work on my stuff when that happens and cut parts for future builds when I have time or get bored with Goss... Gotta keep things hopping...

What ever happening to Ryan? He moved to CO and disappeared... heard anything from him. He and his dad had a lead on a RTT for awhile and I am interested in looking at one...

Haven't chatted with him in a while. But I know he is still around lurking in the shadows. Wheeler life sure looks sweet up in Colorado. I get to stare at pics haha. I can't remember his MUD handle at the moment

K - Wait until you have a real job that requires you to be in the office early. Hell I am at the office at 6am or shortly there before every morning. I am not a morning person at all yet still get up between 4:30 and 5 most days. Even on my days off it is rare for me to sleep past 7ish.

Well we are staying put this weekend due to several things.. Several obstacles prevented us from going on our anniversary Vegas trip....

Got some more done on the trailer yesterday (made a set of spring perches and u-bolt plates, finished welding the frame up, built the axle... ready to flip over and start on the side panels, tailgate and top....) and rounded up a few materials today for the door/cargo panels... 1/4" MDF for the cargo panels and 3/16" HDFB for the door panels. Some headliner material (padding) to go under my 4 way stretch marine vinyl. Got 2 sheets of MDF for my rear storage box as well. I will be installing at least 2 (maybe 4) 10" woofers and an OLD SCHOOL Rockford Fosgate Punch 75 (not the new trash RF amps)....

S2 got me the hook up on some B-pillar seat belt covers

Procured some parts for the 40 build as well... lift gate (TanCruiser), 2F carb (Mel Lowe), 2F distributor (FleeBay) and a set (4) of 36" x 12.5" Super Swamper TSL radials and (5) black LX450 rims (ginericLC) ...

I have to give a shout out for @mel lowe ... he has been awesome to deal with on my used parts. Items are better than described most of the time, extremely well packaged and very good prices....Give him a shout for any of your 60 needs, guys!

Do you have some sort of laser cutting machine or are you cutting all this stuff free handed?!? Looks great! Will be ordering roof rack and sliders in the spring.

J, Thanks, I cut everything freehand. Hypertherm PowerMax 65, bandsaw, chopsaw and cut-off wheels mainly.

x2 on the shout out for " Mel Lowe ", he stepped up and helped me with the Slow71.

Questions... Did I miss, what type of box are you building for the trailer and those spring perches, did you bend those up on the press? Last one, what thickness metal do you like to use for perches, spring hangers? would they be heavier for a vehicle.

Thanks Man, Always fun to visit here!

Thanks Ron,

Once I get the trailer flipped over and see how tall it will be (TALL)... I will go with a 12" to 24" side and then throw a top on it as well. Similar to a 416, but the ends more boxed and flat.

I take 3" x 2" x .188" (3/16") rectangle and cut it down for my perches. Easy..... 3/16" is pretty close to what is on my 40 and 60. However the bushing sleeve is 1/4". I made everything 3/16" for the trailer build.

I would be comfortable making them for a vehicle out of 3/16" but with a 1/4" bushing sleeve. Hell these have last 27+ years 60) and 45+ years (40) ....

Trailer build thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/my-uut-build.821579/

A 4" x 4" bend is as tight as my press will bend the way it is set up now. SO.. I improvise and adapt to get things done....

After welding all morning.. I decided to paint/stain the rear tailgate carpet to see what it looked like.. Pretty damn nice if you ask me...
I might just keep it around for a little while...

I might get to play in the shop tomorrow. So, if I'm feeling better, I will try and get all the door glass installed and panels covered in black vinyl..

FINALLY... Got all the windoes, regulators, weatherstripping, locks etc.. on all the doors... I got the rear tailgate and hatch blacked out. Started scavenging pieces for the cargo panels.

Pretty good day. Not sure if I will get to the panels tomorrow or not. Next week for sure.

AND SMOKED A PORK LOIN TOO!
