That's crazy! I tried to convince him to do a dedicated build thread, but not sure he ever did...besides, he had already finished the work when he posted on that thread...but I got a kick out of his writing style! Tried to convince him to write a book or something...seemed like a real character!

Very unique for sure. ^^ We are at 6200' elevation here. Trees are just starting to turn.

This is 24 or 29 oz I can't remember, OEM grade plush. I have a 10' x 16' piece of 40 oz. marine black that I want her to play with as well. IIRC +/- 50% of the marine carpet weight is its rubberish backing.

I'm trying to find a plush and a loop in both the brown and blue-grey to match the 6X's OEM color. Right now the plush brown is a spot on match but nothing else makes me happy.. I've ordered in over 100 sample of blues, greys and browns...

I for one am hoping the carpet thing comes together! Debating going all vinyl flooring, but waiting to see what Trail Tailor comes up with first as the carpet looks and sounds much much nicer...

Here's a last look at my cargo carpet before it hits the bin. The relentless sun made it so weak it actually started shredding from wind buffeting just from driving with the windows down!

I had the aussie vinyl floor in my 84 FJ60. Really liked it. So easy to clean, no worries about spills. Dog hair comes right out. Great all around.

Cheers

I, I'd like to add vinyl to the line-up. But, trying to find someone to cut and mold it is not very promising around here.

I'll be back in the shop tomorrow to hopefully finish a 60 rear and start on another. Then the 80 will come inside to play for a few days. I plan on building two or three of the 80 rears over the next week to 10 days and have a "stock" of those.

The wife is wanting to sell her "all stock" OEM '97 FZJ80 and look for a Hundy..

Cheers,

J

You can still get the aussie vinyl floor on Ebay Australia.

Cheers

Thanks J, no pressure! Seems you have a lot on your plate and I don't mind a little road noise anyway.

Tis a pleasure vicariously seeing things get done over there, fly on the wall style!

I have a feeling the blue/grey will be closer to a charcoal/grey. I have several inquiries on them. I'll keep ya posted.

Ordered my front windshield and gasket since it was about a 4 week ordeal for Marley. I'm going back with a Precision non-lock strip gasket. I never had an issue with leaks etc. with this gasket. I'll have to see what that Precision part number was and post it up.

I have a black loop 60 carpet set to be finished in about 10 days... I may be swapping. I like the red but, DAMN! MY EYES!

J

NO progress to report on Goss. Had to go to the eye doctor yet AGAIN to remove metal out of one of my eyes... YES... I wear two forms of eye protection.. Safety glasses and a face shield anytime the grinder turns on... Even wear safety glasses under my welding hood. When I raised the face shield, grinding dust fell down from the hinge area and into my eyes. Occupational hazard... It'll happen in some form or fashion again.

Got 2 bumpers boxed up and loaded for shipping tomorrow. (found these cool InstaPak foam packs... really supports and cushions the bumpers in the box)

Received a care package from Jason @ CruiserYard. AC lines, condenser, license plate light and DS headlight bucket and ring. I will get the condenser flushed and take these hoses and compressor to my local hose shop for conversion to the Dodge AC compressor. Ordered a dryer from RockAuto as well.

Take care of your eyes man (stating the obvious makes me feel relevant :p). Any grunt will tell you there's no replacement for the Mark 1 Eye Ball. Hope you feel better.
I have a dodge compressor from a 2001 ram in my rig, sadly the 1989 one Toyota uses blows much cooler air. Not sure if it was still r12 back then.

Over the past 20+ years I've lost track of how many times this has happened. When she got the little spec out, I laughed.. you could barely see it on the white paper she put it on, BUT man it hurt like HELL! I immediately go to the doctor when I know something is in them. I see so many welders/pipefitters just rub and try to rinse it out and wait until their eyes are so irritated they can' topen their eye.. They actually do so much damage to their eyes when they do that, just pushes it further in and scars the eye even more.

I'm good now. I'll be back after it tomorrow after I go drop off a shipment.

She's begging for paint.

Yes, Goss is ready for a new look. Goss, like all my cruisers is a HE.

Ole Blue was named after my blue tick, "Blue".
Marley was named after Bob Marley because of the little Rastafarian magnet man I found while performing the initial cleaning.
Hamp was named after a Hampshire boar I had in 4H years ago.
Joe -- G.I. Joe
Goss was for the Looney Tunes-Gossamer that was created by an evil scientist.

She?, this whole time I thought it was a He. But yes It wants paint.

Once I get your bumper done, I will get those lower quarters finished and shoot the primer. (White epoxy)

But at the end of the day....no matter what they are named... they are "CRUISERS"

Got out to the shop this morning and a couple of my lights were not working... We had an awesome thunderstorm last night. So, called my electrician to come diagnose the problem, two blown ballasts and 4- 8' bulbs. I was talking to the guys and they said their boss had a powder coating oven he had build last year and used it a couple times. So, the "boss" and I are in negotiations right now on his oven.

I have lighting again and on to the usual....

Worked on RobustBambi's rear a little (see his thread for progress), sanded and put the last coat of filler down on Goss, and finished up the frame and light welding on my press brake. I played a little, but need to add stiffeners and finish welding it out.

It bends small 3/16" and 1/4" nicely.
