2.92 this morning...wish it would spread to San Marcos...

It will never get to Austin, we get drilled for an extra quarter a gallon.

Even south Austin has cheaper gas than Austin proper, by at least $.10 a gallon. It's hovering around $3.07/gal in Oklahoma City today, but that's for real gas, not the politically correct ethanol crap.

Is that a temporary thing because they just opened up the Buckee's or is that price seen across NB?

True Bucee started the price war but HEB & Wally World have been a player also.. HEB ran out Sunday and sold next best grade for cheap, they had such a crowd that the police stepped in to keep folks in line.... Price just jumped to 3.09....

Election year. Obama needs to bring it down to keep it from being a debate issue. Should stay until November.

It'll need to come down a helluva lot more than that to avoid entering the debates. I filled up my 40 with Texaco 89 octane "real gas" at a station on south Lamar, the week prior to the 2008 election. Still have the receipt. $1.499 a gallon.

A place near my house has it for 3.23....

Meh...it won't last. Price is low to try to get folks to travel places for summer vacations. It will spike back up by August.

Yepper! Hike it way up with the Winter blend....

Summer is when gas rises. Supply demand.

Obama is not lowering gas, nor is he affecting the price movement with policy. (well, He finally lifted the monitoring on new drilling permits in the gulf a while back)

Simple economics dictates that gas should not ever come down. There is no increase in profit by selling more gallons at a lower price. Without competition such as NB has, there is nothing that should bring down gas. Of course that doesn't mean it won't come down due to futures.

Sorry.

I was in NB and forgot to fill up this weekend. I'm stuck buying Gucci gas in Westlake :meh:

I know this isn't a political forum but do you really believe Obama or any president for that matter doesn't have the ability to change the price of oil? That's all they've been doing for nearly 30 years.

Trump is a buffoon but I doubt he's far off the mark here. Crude oil is presently hovering around $82 a barrel. According to industry analysts, the "true" price based on existing reserves and current production, should be around $30-40 a barrel. Most of the price difference is due to futures traders manipulating the market.
