Backtracked to this while researching replacements for the other limited & NLA clamps originally called out for the FJ62; specifically the front & rear heaters, oil cooler and thermostat bypass hose. I also stumbled on 90467-21010, which appears in images to be a little more stout given the "double" band it has. Am I correct in presuming that allows better retention of the spring force over long term heating and cooling cycles? Would this also be an acceptable spring clamp to use, do you think?
Hi,
I believe that Yes, I think you are right, as its design is more practical than clamp No. 87124-28030, and as I mentioned previously, it is only for those who wish to preserve the original parts from the factory in addition to ease of use without the need for a specific tool. Good luck and thanks for your mention of me.
We use 96112-10250 for all the 16mm size heater hoses, they’re OEM, period correct look, and only about .25 a piece. Need about 20 of them for a 60/62 engine bay.

I saw those specifically called out for a good number of connections for the 62 before ultimately finding the spring clamps I did. Other than cost, is there a reason you use these wire type ones instead of the spring clamps, or is that the only factor?
What do you use for the 13mm hose connections? Also a wire style?

Just to keep things simple. Since we almost exclusively work on 40/60/62/80, only having to keep a few part numbers handy in bulk makes inventory a little easier.
For some that are hard to reach like PHH on a 80 we use the actual Part #.
96112-10220 is the equivalent for the 13mm hose.
I’ve noticed a pattern in the part numbers for the wire clamps is, the last three # indicate the ID in MM.
250 = 25mm ID, 220 = 22mm ID, 490 = 49mm, etc

Just as a little more info for anyone coming across this thread, I just found out that the 90467-21010 is listed as a viable substitution for both the 96112-10250 and the 10250 wire style clamps (applicable to BOTH the 16mm ID and the 13mm ID heater/coolant hoses). Seems a little odd, but I guess if it covers a wide enough diameter range with sufficient clamping force that it'll work for both, that simplifies it a great deal for someone doing their own hoses and wanting to go the spring clamp route.
Though they are considerably more costly than the wire style clamps, being $1.85 through Partsouq and $3.74 through ToyotaPartsDeal
EDIT: As it turned out (and I had forgotten to come back and clarify after the fact), the 90467-21010 will NOT work on the 13mm ID hoses due to not holding tight enough. They work great on the 16mm hoses, but I've not yet found viable spring clamps for 13mm ID hoses. I simply haven't taken the time to look again yet, since my rear heater is removed in hopes of refurbishing the hard lines.
