I actually got all 9 windows tinted in the llumar bronze 20% last Saturday. The guys who did it were mobile tinters based out of Vista CA. I'll look up the name and add picturessdea
Ok so the company was Solar Care an their number is 1800 230 4527 ext 11042.
But here's the deal with these guys, I called them originally, talked to tonya and was quoted $340. I diddnt have $340 to blow at the time so I told her I would call back after I got paid. A month later, I called back and she still had the tint in stock but she couldn't remember how much she quoted me so she asked me. I replied with "I don't know, $300 or something like that" and she said Ohh, $295? So I said yeah, that sounds about right. So I set it up for last Saturday.
They came to my work, which was nice but after they started cleaning my windows one of the guys came over and told me that it was $100 more now because of the special tint.
I told them that this was bull**** and I wanted to talk to their boss. The tinter gave me some phone number to call so I called it and there was no answer. I went back to the tinter and told him about the lack of answer and he said, " did you leave a message, we only communicate via voicemail"
Then after they finished I gave them the $350 and I had tint!! I've noticed that the tint matches extremely close except for when you look at the clouds in the reflection of the window.
Yeah there's a bit of mirror finish to the OEM bronze tint. I wonder if a tinter could lay down a slight mirror film first and then the bronze. That would probably match perfectly. But I'm not sure anyone makes such a transparent mirror film.
EDIT: I did some searching and saw some that were bronze colored "metalized" film which appeared to be more reflective like the OEM tint. But it's of course hard to tell from web pictures just how close it really is. One said it was bronze tinted and "sputtered" with aluminum which sounds about right.

Yes! The lady at solar care told me that the llumar bronze is a "metalized" film which makes it mirror, she also warned me that the metal in the film would cause interference with electronics, especially AM radio. However, I haven't noticed any changes in reception with any of my devices.
I am actually quite happy with the match, I only notice the difference 10% of the time
I've got a pearl white 2000 LX470 that I've been meaning to tint for a long time. Seems like Llumar Bronze ATR 35 BR SR HPR is what you guys are putting on. Have a couple of questions though...
- Are you only doing the front two windows or all around?
- Have any of you used a charcoal tint? Personally I'm not a fan of the bronze color but unsure how it would look if I put it over the existing tintn.
I was lucky enough to get some of the llumar bronze from this thread a few years ago, it was just to do the fronts. From what I remember the charcoal was way off for color and mirror. I do think the color is perfect but the mirror isn't quite right in certain light, probably still the best option though if you can find it. Post #73 has some good pics of the Llumar Bronze ATR 35 BR SR, I think the platinum plus was a better match from looking at other posts though, see post #47 for the platinum plus.
I'm pretty sure that it was sprayed on or done through a similar process. Over the years people have gotten close but never a perfect match with film tint. I'm sure if there was a way to get an exact match someone (like myself) would have done it by now. Since summer heat is in full swing here in SC I am trying to find something asap to keep the heat out.
Anyone know of a tint dealer that would be willing to sell and ship me some Suntek HP 40 & 18 Bronze? All my local dealers either don't know what I am talking about or they never give me a call back when I inquire about it.
Well maybe I should've just started by doing a google search, I assumed this tint could only be bought through local dealers. I was wrong. A couple of minutes after my last post I found another website that carries it at a better price...
Hey, does anyone have pictures of the suntek bronze installed? Has this been decided as the closest match to factory tint?
When I went to the link above it gives the option on two instances for either 40-light or 18-Medium. Option 1-Film type and Option 2 Tint shade option. Does this mean there is 4 different variations to the tint?
I do, but it has been years since I had this installed. I don't know which tint it is from your list of options above, either, but here is my 80 from a few years back, when the tint was younger:
