Ok, it was brought to me by another member (i'll let him "out" himself if he wishes) that due to the recent unpleasantness that Gabe and his family have had to deal with, maybe we (UC) should do something nice to pay it forward, and keep the cruiser karma going. We (the BOD along with said anonymous member) decided we would help him out by purchasing a rebuilt t-case and tranny and help him install it. I know that this is not his DD, but it is a source of fun and enjoyment for he and his family as these things are for many of us. So lets rally around the flag so to speak and get this ball rolling. I think it is a good idea, and I hope you do too...feel free to comment, but in the position the club is in, I think it is a good thing to do for a fellow member.

I concure, and await the how of getting it done. Sales , donations, car wash what. But we can and should as you stated pay it forward when we can. :)

Awsome idea! Let's try to get a date on the calender.

I would like to thank everyone for there extraordinary kindness and consideration. We now are looking at going back in 5 months or so with aaron for a second heart cath. If everything goes well then by the end of the year surgery. In no shape, form or fashion have i ever expected anyone(other than dochdelsol:grinpimp:) to help me with my rig especially in this fashion... It is very humbling to be part of a group that not only cares about its members but is willing to "walk the walk" and not just "talk the talk".... I am not the best in the world with thank you's but you guys will never know how thankful i am for your help but also for the friendship and experience that i have had the priviledge to have with you guys.

sweet!!! can't wait to get Gabe back out on the trails again!

our kids had a great time on our last over night outing with the rigs!

trout fishing in echo valley....then our kids throwing rocks at each other in the river....good times!!!

date wise i prefer a saturday but other than that i am game. The truck is at my father in laws. I will roll it into his shop when we are ready. Nice concrete floor and no worry about weather. I have a couple of things to tidy up before we work on it anyway and can hopefully take care of them in the next week or so.

i will do my best to be at this one!

I second getting a date on the books - the earlier the better for me.

Tis gonna be fun. Am I allowed to use a drill?

No drills for steve... :flipoff2:

Or should we just say hole saws?

Easter is the 8th, we could shoot for march 31st or April 14th

sounds bad but i have not been to church on easter sunday in about 3 years.

The church i went to up until this year was always so busy on easter sunday that the chrurch staff asked that the regular church members attend the saturday services on easter weekend to make more room for guests/major holiday only church attendees

Hey Gabe, is Aaron going to need blood for his surgery? If so I called the blood connection and we can hold a blood drive specifically for Aaron's use. Only thing is we have to do it closer to his surgery as blood only has a 45 day shelf life.

You don't have to say thank you man, I look at my kids everyday and thank God they are healthy, but I never know what the future holds. That's what friends are for, none of us expect a thank you we just expect you to do everything in your power to help Aaron and if you need anything we're here.

I second that, Chuck. I've always tried to help out any way I can, and with that, I have recieved some great support back from the club.
Now just to find the trans/transfer case.
Should we go to ACC??

I vote for april 14th, we will be out of town the last week of March, and the first week of April is kind of special with my particular denomination. Let me know what you guys want to do and i'll try my best to make this event....

i like that date too.
