Sounds like you did well. What race was it? 9th overall is really good. I have to get back training. I fell off the running thing hard since Feb. When i was training regularly i felt so much better. We did go do the Sweetwater 420 5k a few days ago. My GF won her age group but which was great. I managed to do 2nd in my age group but that was it. Something crazy like 48th overall, way back.
 
Are all 9.5 diffs the same from 40, 60, 80 (rear)?

It was the Cheerios Challenge here in Covington 10K/5K. The 10k was 1st with the 5k about 2hrs later. That made for a ruff 5k.
 
i do as a matter a fact, spider gears already removed for a locker install ;)

All the diffs are interchangeable however they are not all the same. All aftermarket gear sets are all interchangeable and all fine spline at the pinion. 40/60 cases are the same but 80 cases have a slightly higher pinion. The 80 series 4.10 gears are 10 tooth pinions with 41 tooth ring gears, 40 and 62 4.10 diffs have 9 tooth pinions and 37 tooth ring gears. 60s came with 3.70s. The ring gear carrier also changes slightly over the years so you have to make sure the spiders are from the same diff as the carrier. If you are running a drop in locker or a full case locker it doesn't matter. All the setup kits are the same as well.

I run 80 diffs only because they have a slightly higher pinion and the cases are slightly beefier.

What about a 62 compared to an 80, because didn't 62s come with 4.11 gears?

Oh, I am pretty sure I know what he meant. :idea: I guess he couldn't get his expedition trailer finished up in time for the trip to TN in a few weeks.

62s use the same housing as the 40s and 60s with the lower pinion. 100 series rear diffs are the same as 80s but have factory 4.30 gears.
