SOLD
For Sale or Trade. 1976 FJ40 – less than 300 miles since body off restoration (build thread link in my sig line). This is by far the coolest vehicle I’ve owned or had the privilege to work on, but with 3 kids, it’s time to move up to something bigger. All engine, tranny and t-case seals and gaskets replaced with the exception of valve stem seals and VC gasket. It doesn’t burn oil, so I was waiting to replace those during the next valve adjustment. New water pump, t-stat and hoses. No rust. Brand new wheels/MT tires (30x9.5 R15). New TRE’s. Carb just rebuilt by Mark. MAF HEI distributor. New GR starter. Warn front bumper with Warn 8274, remote, Amsteel 3/8”x85ft synthetic line and hook (by Southeast Overland). New 48” Hi-Lift jack and FJ Mount. New windshield and seal. New seat covers professionally installed. Rear bench seat by BestTop. New headlights and taillights. New Sears Platinum battery (same mfr as Odyssey). Wiring harness all original and uncut. All new hoses. Reconditioned rear heater. Front heater and blower taken apart, cleaned and new gaskets installed. New steering rag joint. New Brake and Clutch MC’s. New front rotors and brakes. Rear shoes good. Parking brake works. Axle seals good – no leaks or residue on knuckles. Desmog with original header and exhaust. Starts, runs and drives like a champ. No whining from t-case or rear end. 4WD engages easily and works great. Clutch is strong. Odometer/Speedo not working so exact mileage unknown. Paperwork from PO and condition of vehicle puts this under 100k miles. Currently registered in GA. No title (bill of sale only required in GA). Check your state’s requirements before purchase. The bad – small oil leak (leaves a drip or two in the garage) speedo not working, lower right dashpad needs new clips but otherwise in good shape. Front DS fender has dent. I built this to be a no-fuss, rust-free reliable rig. It's not a show car, but looks great and gets compliments wherever I go. Complete front doors (mint – no rust) with interior panels, glass, etc included in sale. Also included is a complete rust free hardtop disassembled. Rear hatch panel, glass, lift struts, brackets and header included to make the ’76 top work with barn doors. Hardtop is missing side glass on one side – other side and corner pieces and all 4 seals in great shape. $8,400 or possible trade - preferably for a 55, 60 or 80, but may be open to other trades. Project + cash trades welcome.
