I have read threads about using a MAF off of a Camry for the 3f. Is there anything like this for the 1hz? I am in a bind and the cruiser is dead.

I installed the snorkel this morning. I removed the air box to give myself more room and with out thinking it through i unscrewed the AFM pigtail instead of just unplugging it from the AFM. The wires inside came loose from their connections. I put it all back togetehr and attempted to start it but it acted like it was flooded. It finally came to life but would die. I said well maybe she is out of gas. added gas. still same thing. so i pulled the AFM and investigated. One wire was not attached. I attached it and reinstalled and all she does is turn over and acts like she isn't getting fuel. So thats where I am now. I ordered one off a camry and will try that . but i'm really just hoping. not sure where to go. no one has one for the crusier unless i want to spend 450 on a used one from cruiser corp. Any and all suggestions are welcomed i'm even down for being flamed right now lol

What year do you have I have one for a 95-97

it can be repaired if you have a soldering iron. cut the sealant on the top and pry up cover. Circled are the 3 solder points that need to be solder to the board. Also note the position of the arm also highlighted in yellow, make sure it is on the correct side. you can disco the 2 black wire leads to give yourself some room to work. take the entire AFM out of the truck and put it on a bench to work on. Welcome, those 2 screws you removed, those are the "no no screws" They greeted me when I first met my 94 80. Good luck with the repair. you can do this with a $5 solder iron and watch a few minutes of youtube if you don't know how to solder.

:( didn't work for me

What didn't work? The coil spring controls the air flow door, if you have pulled the airflow door out of place you need to make sure you put it back in place. I know this looks like a complex device, but it's mostly mechanical and can be fixed with a little patience.
We soldered the contacts back on. The cruiser starts and quickly die out. The air flow door is in the closed position as it was when it was pulled. So I don't know what's going on

Have someone push down on the contacts as you start it. Make sure your solder is contacting the board. Also, move the coil back and forth and make sure the air flow door is moving with it. The door can get stuck behind the arm that moves it. Hard to explain and it's been a year since I did mine.

Tried that didn't help. Here's where I am now. Charlene will start. She won't idle. Just dies. So i went ahead and tried the camry afm does that same exact thing. i figured with the good afm evne if the fuel/air mixture were off she would still run, but not run well. Then i started thinking simple. when i parked the truck the fuel light was on so i said let me add fuel. didn't help. So now i am at a loss. does anyone have any other ideas before i go spend money on a part that will not fix the problem.

My suggestion and it would be a long shot ......if you can find or know someone with the same year cruiser swap out the maf on both and see if yours runs and the other doesnt you would be able to definitely pinpont if it actually is your maf

I have thought about that but that's a huge long shot.
