Does anyone know how to wire a light bar to the ignition so it can only be turned on when the car is on?

One option is the rear heater circuit if you've deleted the heater. There is a dedicated 20 amp connection under the passenger seat. Look for a blue/white wire for +12 and a white/black for ground.

The wires I mentioned are connected to the rear heater relay under the seat.

You need to use a relay. Wire it as follows

Terminal 86 (Coil +) : Ignition Power
Terminal 85 (Coil -) : Switch. Wire other side of switch to ground
Terminal 87 : Power wire to lights. Tie ground wire of lights into any chassis ground
Terminal 30 : Fused power from battery

That should be it
