1993 FZJ80 BRAKE Light comes on at random intervals while driving. (1 Viewer)

Hey all, about 2 months ago, my 80 began randomly flashing the red BRAKE dash light. I had recently installed a JVC carplay unit. I don't know if that has anything to do with the light. My brakes feel fine. I have tried fidgeting with the handbrake and the light still turns on. Has anyone else had this issue?

likely your brake pads are wearing down which means the level of fluid in the reservoir drops to compensate for the pistons being further in and this is triggering the low fluid sensor
If you top up the fluid beware that when you put new pads in you will need to remove some fluid from the reservoir or it will overflow when the pistons are pushed back in

Only 2 items illuminate the dash BRAKE lamp.
The switch in the handbrake handle, and the switch in the brake fluid reservoir cap.
