Fuel injector connector tab broke

I broke a few of mine when I disconnected. First time messing with these. I thought...damn, that may be a problem.

it turned out to be not that big of deal.

I ordered some new connectors.

I tried picking, prying, etc...and the old connector just kept breaking. I thought that I was going to have to solder the wires.

Then a guy at the Toyo dealer told me to put them in a plastic bag and crush them with a wrench.The wires won’t be hurt unless you squeeze the crap out of them. Mine broke kind of gently apart, revealing the wires.

Now, go back to the connector and pull (pry) out the little white safety catch with a sharp pick.

Now, back to the wire harness. The revealed wires will have a flat side and a side with tabs.

The flat side goes to the flat side of the fuel injector connector. So, put the tabbed side towards the release tab on the connectors.

Now, put both wires in the holes (at the same time) in the back of the connector and push (kind of quickly) and it will literally click.

They will only go in one way.

Pull on them a little to make sure that they connected ( they won’t pull back out).

Then, put the little white safety pin in and push it with your finger nail (should be easy to push).

Then you can take a look to double check.

A jewelers screwdriver can be of great use to release the tab on the electrical connector too. Take out the white lock, press the tab, and pull the wire/connector out the back. Rock Auto has them for cheap. I think they fit my 80, 100, tundra, and lexus ls400 injectors.
