Hi All, The engine frequently cuts and then wont start. Battery is good, the starter cranks and all but the engine does not. After 5 to 6 minutes of a pause and doing nothing, the engine starts in the first crank. So it seems like there is something going on with the fuel pump. I changed the relay and that didn't help. Opened up the Fuel Pump cover under the rear seats and saw an issue. The fuel pump connector wires are stripped showing the copper and the strands are hardly holding together. So i am assuming that is the culprit. Whether it really is or not, i think it must be fixed regardless. If that doesn't help, i already have the fuel pump that i will then replace.

Trying to fix the wiring first but cant figure out what the part number of the connector is. What i find online looks completely different from the one installed in the vehicle, picture attached. Where can i get this and what is the part number. Please advise.

Can't 100% guarantee but vehicle harness side should be 90980–11197 and fuel pump side should be 90980–11196 for the connectors based on the information from EWDs/repair manuals and your pictures.

Thank you. The part numbers are absolutely correct.

"while you're in there", double insulate one of the wires that is known to get chafed by the pump bracket. This in turn causes a short to ground which will blow the EFI fuse. Usually this happens in the middle of nowhere with the rig loaded to the gills. A search will reveal lots of pics and info on this issue.

Ah. Will do. Thank you so much for the advice.

Oh, another thing I did to make this process a little easier is that I cut a half moon shape pattern on the carpet directly above the pump. This allows me to access the space without mucking with the carpet a whole bunch not that this is a habit, but it does makes things a lot more efficient!!
