Ordered as well. My OE ones are in great shape, but a couple on the shelf is always a good thing ...

Reviving this to see how you're attaching them to the top. A bead of silicone or RTV? Something more aggressive? How did the double-stick foam tape work longer term?
I'm planning to do the seals between the body and top this summer and my current badges are riveted in which tells me there's 50/50 chance mine will come off in tact.

I realize that this is a SUPER-niche issue, but on the off chance anyone ever has this problem again...

I lost one of my "FRP Top" nameplates from the B pillar on my BJ73. There is an ugly hole and bolt hidden behind there, so it looks like s*** with the plate missing.

However these parts can't be purchased from Toyota (separately from the top itself, anyway) and my classifieds search hasn't born fruit in over a year.

SO.

I made a 3D model of the tag, which you can have 3D printed or machined. Its a fairly good match.

(Needs paint obv.)

3D file is online here should you need it: Dropbox - File Deleted - https://www.dropbox.com/s/yu28mvw1h01vlmw/FRPTOP.stl?dl=0

I used two stripes of 1/4" 3M double sided tape. Worked fine.

If anyone is in need of FRP top cover plates I have a few used ones I will be listing soon .

And these are still available new from Toyota.

@amaurer can you share this again?

Weird, the link is still good but something is wrong with my AWS instance. Will be back up in the next day or so. In the mean time you can email me at a.lmaurer at the big google email place and I'll send you the file.

Or alternatively I actually would recommend just buying the part from Shapeways here: 70-Series Landcruiser FRPTOP Badge by amaurer on Shapeways - https://www.shapeways.com/product/9PMV48MXJ/70-series-landcruiser-frptop-badge?li=shareProduct Yes they keep raising the price, but honestly their sintered nylon is an unbeatable match for stock. Full discolsure I do get like $2 for each sale, and I've made like..... $20... EVER having these listed on there. My point is this isn't a "amaurer gets rich" situation, its just the best option and its what I used on my own truck.

They must be available “again” then as they weren’t for a long time

good to know.....

Upgraded…
