I might be a tad sleep deprived at the moment, but do you disconnect one side or both? Anything that needs to be tied up when disconnected?

You want to disconnect both sides. The brackets will hold the the swaybar up and out of the way when disconnected.
Picture below with Gen I brackets and the bar secured.

Now get some sleep:grinpimp:

What you are missing out on :D

Wheels on the ground = better traction and safer wheeling

No need to disconnect on every trail but when you need it you are very happy you can disconnect.

Any issues with these tearing up the OEM radius arm bushings? With the added articulation, seems like the torsional stress on the front bushings especially would skyrocket.

For the best long term results you want to run only OEM bushings. Yes hard flexing or wheeling in general will reduce any bushings life. The reduction in bushing life is minimal given the gains you get in safety, traction, and eliminating the risk of tearing off the factory swaybar mounts you get by disconnecting. Where as non OEM will only last me 6 months or less Im have been on OEM for a couple years now.

If you are a wheeler with swaybars you want disconnects or upgrade your swaybar mounts at a minimum if you run tough trails.

Phil, I was going to try an build these front and rear for my 100. Have you explored this, because I have too much junk to build right now and would rather just buy them. I asked a couple other guys if they offer this for the 100 but haven’t heard anything. Any ideas?

I have found one can get 100% articulation out of the rear without disconnect. I have looked at the front but never came up with anything they a caveman could easily do.

The new brackets installed

Got my kit in a few days ago. Well packed, parts look great, nice instructions.
And it came with free candy!

For the 4" or higher lifts are you adding sway bar drop blocks. If so, is there a size difference in the drop blocks.

Just returned from a few weeks of off roading in Tunisia and left Ms LCP to run Land Cruiser Products.

When she picked up the next 100 swaybar disconnect brackets she found out they were not finished and she was not going to paint them. Talking with the manufacturer they up graded the finish to zink coating. Looks like we have Gen II+ now going forward with a lifelong nice gold finish:D

Let me know if there is interest in current owners upgrading to a zink finished bracket.

The upgrade would be nice, would it cost me anything to replace?

By the way, these are easy to install, once I found a washer I dropped (hid on the axle) I was done in 15-25 minutes tops.

Time for LCP to upgrade the 4-5 year old brackets and evaluate wear.

Some install tips -
• I install the brackets loose at first
• Disconnect the swaybar and pin it in place on the brackets.
• While tighten the bolts push the bracket outward. The goal here is for the swaybar to be held in place without pins. This makes pinning the swaybar much easier and faster.

Old brackets estimated to be 4-5 years old installed - Pin tab faces to the rear and outward, both sides

Brackets installed and tighten. When tightening I make sure there is enough pressure to hold the swaybar in place without the pins.

I like the clip on top to eliminate any change of contact.

Per our instruction for ease of operation - Drivers side first when disconnecting swaybar. Passengers side first when connecting swaybar.

Most asked about Swaybar Disconnect question -

Will the Swaybar Disconnect wear on the holes in the factory brackets. The answer is no and my disconnects (pictured below) have 6 years and 10,000's of off road miles.

Drivers side view of factory swaybar bracket. Im happy with the lack of wear after all the years and nothing to address.

IMG_1021.JPG

I did measure some wear on the pin with the safety loop. The wear was very minimal at .007" but because I have tons on the shelf I replaced it. The other pin shows not wear were it mounts. There is no wear on the end as it has been ground smaller to make pinning easier. Being SS must be the reason for lack of wear.

Very happy with the wear results after all the miles and time.

I get a lot of inquirers on drop blocks for front swaybars. The list below is what I found on a Google search. A wide selection on cost and drop so check all links to find the ones that fit your interest. I do not endorse any one drop bracket manufacture as they all will work fine.

If you have the skills I found it very easy to cut the factory links and extend by welding 1/2" id pipe to get the needed length.

Current owner...interested in upgrading...what's my option sir?

Is it the previously stated $33 shipped? If so, I'm down.
