I've never been a big fan of front license plates. I have a 2013 LC and would really like a cleaner look on the front, instead of having a blank license plate holder. Any thoughts or ideas?

Since you asked ;)

They didn't leave us a good option with the 13-15 front bumper skin. If the plate is off that black plastic square blocks the grille.. and I didn't see a way to cut that up to match the grille opening and have it look clean.

So I just run the front plate and give state troopers have one less reason to pull me over.

I googled “japanese to us license plate adapter“ and a number of ideas came up.

the plate from Southwester Lazer Art screwed into the existing holes on my Land Cruiser. I have a 2010 and a HE 2020.

Japanese license plates fit perfectly!!!

285's,

Didn't think there was enough that hasn't already been covered for a full dedicated build thread: BP 51's, Slee Sliders, LRA aux tank, chrome delete and a spot or two with gloss black wrap.

BTW. Here is the Japanese license plate site:

I've posted this before, but here's what I did to my LC. Ebay sourced emblem, HDPE sized to cover just the embossed portion of the OEM bumper.

Great idea. Two questions: (1) Is the HDPE bolted directly to the fender or did you use some type of bracket? (2) How did you attach the emblem to the HDPE plate? The emblem appears to be mounted with screw pegs … wondering if those fall inside the openings on the OEM bumper.

Exactly. Plenty of people don't run one here in Texas although you are required to.
I dont necessarily plan on breaking the law, but im also not inviting the (non existent) Austin police to pull me over.

I had to drill mine actually, and don't mind the 16+ plate bracket location as it breaks up the huge grill in a good way.

It's been a while, but near as I remember...

1. Bolted to bumper yes, using existing and threaded holes in the 2020 bumper.
2. To mount emblem, drilled holes at appropriate places in HDPE, including a relief cut for attachment nuts on the back side (IIRC there are three, but I only used 2 and ground off the other one). Then cut down the length emblem studs so they didn't stick out past HDPE plate and bolted the emblem to the HDPE.

Finally used some black plastic license plate screws to hold assembly to the bumper.
