And the saga continues, I put new shoes and cylinders on the front of my 71Fj now when I torque down the rims the wheels won't turn. I then took the wheels off and put chalk on the edges of the drum on the outside edge of the shoes and put it back on still won't turn. I then tried a strap wrench on the hub to try to turn and no luck. Next I put a 1/4" spacer between the drum and mounting flange and tried again still no luck, didn't find any chalk wiped offf on any surface. Tried the back drums on the front same thing. Any suggestions?
Thanks

The drums turn well until I tighten the lugs and I have adjusted the brakes.

Unless you have wrong parts this should be an easy fix.

Take the wheel off so you can easily see what you are doing. Then turn the adjusters on the clys. as loose as you can. Put it back together & adjust them correctly.

With the wheel off there should be almost no threads showing on the adjusters. With new shoes you need the adjustment all the way loose in order to easily slip the wheel on.

Should solve your problem.

Thanks, readjusting the brakes worked, don't understand why but it did.
Thanks
