Well I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be good when I spotted the crappy weld some P.O. had done quite some time ago and now I know I’m in deep.
Shackle mount is okay. There’s a flat section of metal that is simply welded front and back which resides between the frame and the mount. Mine is trashed. I’ve split the two.

I can cut a new one from 1/8” steel I have. My question is, does it require the holes that the old one has in it?

PN 48401-60020 is D/C’d.

The two holes are where the factory rivets were. You don't need those holes if you plan on welding your own one on.

Mine are the same way. Not bolted but have the holes. I guess they are the same mount as the rears. Mine are also just welded front and back with that plate. That may be stock. I would make another plate and weld it and bolt it too for safe measure.

^^^ terrible pics but yes that’s how the passenger side looks.
I’ll cut a new piece, weld it and be done. Thanks all.

ruff stuff sells pre made shackle mounts if you want new beefy ones to weld on.

If it would not be too much of a hassle for you, I would drill holes in your new mount that you are going to weld on and put some grade 8 bolts in there. In addition to the welds of course.

Not necessary of course, but when my shakle mount broke off in the same place as yours, that is what my welder suggested we do. Just adds a bit more security for not much $$.

I have some of those laying around in my garage that are not broken. Just saying.

I have a rear one as well if you want it.

That's what I was talking about. I didn't notice if there were two holes in the frame to match the two small holes but I would drill it out and bolt some grade 8 hardware in addition to welding all 4 sides. Cause me being a new welder with only a 135 lincoln I don't trust my heavy welds especially in a critical area as this.

There are two holes in the frame. @cps432 mounts or the metal plate? I only need one. Passenger is fine.

This is what I have. Come to think of it, I’m not sure if they’re from the front or rear. And I believe they came off an early model 60. I have the shackle pin mounts as well and they’re different on my truck. These may work for you.

Cut a new one like you’re talking about, but make it a bit wider. Drill the two holes on the hanger and add a hole for the cross member, you’ll need to drill it as well. Use 3 grade 8 bolts and bolt the entire thing together for now - sandwich the plate between the shackle and the frame, and the plate to the cross member.

If you want to, burn the plate to the hanger but I bet you don’t need to.

The ruffstuff hangers don’t have the correct bushings dimensions to use either the Cruiser bushing or for the Cruiser shackle pin to go through them. Use the Toyota hangers if you’re using stock dimension bushings

I’ll pass Chris @cps432... not seeking more old. I’ll use what I have and do as @FJACS said. Easy enough, no sense going non stock @Hojack but thanks for the link.

Already two holes in the frame. I’ve got a photo from the underside. Unfortunately there’s a crack I’ll need to repair as well before adding a new plate. Nothing beyond what’s expected. Thanks all for the direction.

Yota, my opinion and $5 will get you cup of coffee, but I think you are the coolest chick. I like reading your posts and looking at all the hard work you are doing. And what else is cool is that you post both success and failure and it doesn't appear that you are afraid of tackling shiznet. Right on.
