The front fender flares are cut from some Jeep flares I picked up. I mounted aluminum angle brackets directly to the fender with well nuts and used stainless allen bolts to hold the flare to the brackets. On the rear, that's another story. Its a lot of aluminum plate, lots of seam seal and about 700 (I'm not exagerating) pop rivets toped off with Herculiner. The flares are mounted to some 1/8" ABS sheeting that I bent into a 90 degree piece using a heat gun and a vice. I cut reliefs into the side that mounts to the Cruiser to facilitate the curve of the fender and riveted that directy to the body and a separate piece to the door. Then I riveted some 3" rubber flares that I got from J.C. Whitney to that ABS flange. The original lip that went around the rear fender is entirely gone; it was all rust. The bottom of the rear quarter panel is also gone, replaced with the same aluminum plate, seam seal, rivets and Herculiner. I welded some nerf bars to the frame beneath the quarter panel to protect my work and hung a mud flap from that. I'm all done with body work. If it rusts in two, I'm headed to Phoenix to get another rig.
 
Any trouble out of this setup? I've thought about doing it to the rear axle if I end up putting newer truck brakes on my front axle.
