get the admin to put this in tech........ oh wait.

This thread is useless without text...

I wouldnt say useless. Just by seeing these pictures, I feel like I could do a rebuild - something I have never tried before. Thanks.
Of course, when you add text, this will be awesome.

why dont' you use one picture per post  shameless post padding, even by the admin. :o ( :ban: )

i mean thanks   some people wanted a video, here's the next best thing

Ummm, you skipped about 5-6 pictures between #7 & 8, where you get to the part about getting the arms off for the first time in 20 years when it comes to the pounding, swearing, bigger hammer more pounding, swearing, blood and wailing.

:flipoff2:

How do you get the wheel bearings out? I know it is a simple question, but I was in there the other day and didnt see any obvious way to yank them out. Do you pull out the short shaft and they come with it?

And what is the sqare head bolt for?

Thanks

square head bolt on the knuckle is there to fill the knuckle cavaty 2/3 full with grease....honestly, I leave the entire thing DRY and instead repack the trunions, wheel bearings, and birfs on a yearly basis...grease won't flow into the silly bearings anyways....

The last photo of post 4 and the first couple photos of post 5 show the adjusting nuts that retain/torque the wheel bearings. Pull those two nuts, remove the spindle, remove the inner wheel seal, and you can remove both inner and outer wheel bearings to repack....they are completely separate of the grease in the knuckle.

I've got another 20 pics or so from the passenger side...just gotta remember where I lost the camera in the shop, and I'll add those to the list.....
