Free Pig hood

Free hood from 1979 FJ55. Must be picked up. By you I hate to throw it away, but have no use for it. Has rust, but is fixable. Or not? duh, forgot to mention. Hood is located in Atlanta, GA 30360

Damn good deal for someone. I paid a whole lot of money for a hood from SOR, plus $200 to ship it across the country and it was in worse shape then this.

I have an entire body that is going to the recycle yard very soon. floors are in great shape but i am not cutting them out. to me it is worth more in scrap.

That is the third 2F hood I have seen that rusted in theat area on the exterior. What is up with that?

if you look at it, those little areas are the weak point in that hood. thats why the hood cross member is where it is. after repeated opening and closing the hood will start to bend a little across the hood where those little creases are. when is does the paint will crack there, chip and rust right there.

After a little more use the sheet metal will actually crack there.

I'm looking for a good 2F hood as well just to make my truck more "period correct".

Will the cross-member prevent that?
I found a 2F hood that I want to use, it is cracked in that area, but the crossmember had seperated from the skin...
